yes, it was know when the demo was released that it was a timed demo.  you went past the total time played mark the last time you ran the demo, so when you ran it again, it exited on you.

i beleve this is the only demo like that, but i am unsure.  (well, the open betas of final fantasy and PSU, but those were betas.)
