Does the gameplay fill a 16:9 display? I didn't buy frogger because of the rediculously small play window. What is the point of playing a game in 720p if half the pixels are a crappy background with no purpose?

800 points i think, IT does not fill the window, small 4x3 thing. the demo lets you play the very frist level. 4 player split screen and 4 player live games. also has co-op for live and split screen. it definatly has 5.1, it was swarming my room, but its all the old sounds,  not sure ill buy it though

Yeah im downloading the demo first. I always just buy them without testing, but not this time! Co-op is always fun though. Sure would be cool if they would make theese games fit a widescreen though.

How can you be sure you can't stretch it to fill the screen?  I thought the demo of Smash TV wouldn't let you stretch, but when I purchased it, the option was there to manually stretch the picture.

because i played a few times today, you can only resize it proportionally, its stays 4x3, you cant do a horizontal stretch...

Well what i meant was to format it to 16:9, im not interested in stretching it.

nope, cant =( i have a 55 inch wide screen and a 50 inch wide, so its dissapointing to me too, but i can see why i guess, for fairness over live i guess, keep every ones FOV equal

It's even worse for me because I play on a 720p projector at 76" and the black area is huge for me. Plus my pj is LCD so I have to worry about persistent images if I play too long. How long would you want to leave a white screen up there to fix those things when you have a 2000 hour rated lamp? Replacing the lamp is $450.

or maybe because it might make the low res texture quality unbearable...... rolleyes.gif

remember how low res the graphics on the classic doom is..?

Do you realize how low resolution doom originally was? 720p is a big difference. Of course there have been clients around for a long time that add many things like client/server multi-player, higher res, mouse look, jump, opengl, etc.

yeah i know, changing the aspect doesnt change the texture size though, it actualy reshapes the display making a wider view of the lansdcape leaving everything the same...  we arent talking about merely stretching the image. and yes i know how small the res was, i wasnt born yesterday.     keep rollin em
