In my opinion, there has never been a decent Sonic game since it was on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive years ago.

In the early days, Sonic games were a pure joy to play. The music was fast and upbeat, masterfully programmed, and fit each unique level perfectly. The fast-paced action was a new and fresh idea that definitely worked well with the game. What happened?

Sonic games now are just difficult to enjoy. The controls are abysmal, and the voice acting...I could harp on that . I've seen so many programming glitches in newer Sonic games, not to mention they textures and polygon count are horrid.

When I downloaded this demo, I thought I was playing Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast...the graphics are that far behind. Yet another Sonic disappointment..looks like the days of decent Sonic games are gone.

anyway, to who ever said the quality is decreasing - agreed. everythings too automated in the game, and half the time you die through no real fault of your own (ie on the demo when you jump from rope to badguy to rope - you have to be @ a specific height, even though you might be well within its reach, youll still fall to your death)

I'm a huge Sonic fan, and I loved Sonic Adventure but I agree that this demo is crap.

This game is just as bad is I was hoping it wouldn't be.  I'm not disappointed though, because I didn't expect much.

I d/l the demo played for 5 minutes deleted.. it's unplayable... i would rather have my sega back with original sonic.

i would much  rather see sonic as a new high def side scroller, or just make that damn thing a full fledged platformer. they could still retain alot of the origonal speed and shit like that while not keeping you on a race track.   like the rolling guy in kameo.

I'd be happy with a new Sonic for XBLA in the old 2d style.  This is just a franchise that can't make the transition to 3d.

Yeah, I love Sonic, I always have, and always will. But these last couple of games, I mean come on, I can't believe the crap that the expect us to buy and play.

I'm not saying that I could do any better, but I wish the people over at Team Sonic could realize that these games just suck and arn't anything like a Sonic game should be.

I would much rather play a 2D Sonic game with new levels that took about a week or two to program than a 3D suck-fest that we are being treated to that took "years" to program.

It is just sad. I miss Sonic. He died shortly after Sonic Adventure 1 in my mind.

It's a damn shame.  This seems like an awsome game that was ruined by the camera controls.  I thought the graphics were fairly decent and I really enjoyed the game play when the camera wasnt fucking it up for me.  Really... what the hell were they thinking?

if i had $1 for every time i went flying off the map in this game, i'd be a millionaire. and i only played the game for 20 mins.

also as someone else said, if mario can come out with a successful 2d scroller, sonic can too. however, they were on different platforms, also console vs portable makes a big difference as to what is acceptable. however, that is still true. ah well, sonic is still coming to XBLA right?

I gave Sonic Heroes a go and really didn't like it, whereas I loved ye olde Sonic games. But yeah I do agree with that, Sonic is not Mario and should have stayed a side scroller in my opinion. But there are a lot of people who like it, so it's probably a good thing I'm not on sales at Sega right about now.

i dont under stand this game either, hehe, could you imagine if they made Burnout just on bridges with no guardrails? that wouldnt be fun... just like this =)
