seriously...the last goood sonic game i played was on the 16 bit sega...as soon as sonic  went 3d it was all over.
controlls sucks bad
camera sucks even worse
graphics dont exactly look all that improved...and i mean come on ...at least come up witha new concept...
the fact that i can compare 2 different games from 2 different generations wit the same screen  makes me not like the game

No offense to those that like sonic, but this plays/ looks identical to one i played on the DC. Frankly its rubbish.

If that's the case then I'm going to pick this up,
I loved Sonic Adventure on the DC....

Nevertheless, this is great news!
I can't wait to go home to give this a spin....

Very much agreed. When he got vocal cords, I lost interest.

i loved SA1 and 2.  true the camera can use some work but when SA first came out it was considered one of the best 2D to 3D transitions.

ok , i downloaded this earlier today from marketplace , looks nice , but in my opinion it needs work on the control sensitivity  , hope they fix this or at least allow it to be altered in the final game sad.gif

To me based on these images the Dreamcast version look better than the 360 version

relative to the console power, maybe, but not in isolation.

anyway, to who ever said the quality is decreasing - agreed. everythings too automated in the game, and half the time you die through no real fault of your own (ie on the demo when you jump from rope to badguy to rope - you have to be @ a specific height, even though you might be well within its reach, youll still fall to your death)

No I really mean it, in these images the sky/clouds, the wood and even the whale looks better on the DC version. I mean, look at the whale on the 360 version, I looks like it's made of plastic blink.gif

Of course I may being deceived by the quality and size of these pictures.

agreed with above poster ^

most of the time don't feel like your controlling sonic, most of time the level pans to where you should be going, even if you press and hold UP it pans you auto left & right.... ie. auto running blink.gif

I agree with you both it is almost like they want you to 'let sonic do his thing' then at the critical moment you take control, but this always results in death...

I can't believe they released this demo in it's current state.  The controls are so screwed up it's pathetic.  Either you walk failry slowly, or you run at top speed, in which case you lose control and fall down a cliff.
The jumping, double jump, whatever you want to call it, just plain sucks IMO.  Everytime you make a jump, you just feel "lucky" you made it, rather than knowing you did because of skill.

The camera movement is terrible.  How long does it take to move it around your character? rofl.

This game needs work.  Alot of work.  They shouldn't have released a demo like this.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Vhayne!  I was so excited to download this demo last night and then once I started playing, it was all I could do to keep from falling off of cliffs.  I went through lives like Jared goes through Subway sandwiches! I was really let down by this.  As of right now, the Dreamcast version, as far as 3D is concerned, is still the winner in my book.  I hope that Sega does a lot of work to improve upon the camera angles, controller sensitivity, and fast/slow speed of the game.
