Somthing Like Dvdshrink?
« on: July 02, 2004, 07:02:00 AM »

Hi,

Is there a tool like dvdshrink for xbox?
I like the Idea of watching a dvd movie while the dvd is being requantitized (hope i spelled it right   ) to the hd on the fly...  B)
I think a p3/733 should be enough for this task.

umm not with only 64MB of ram
also, the xbox just isn't designed to do multiple things at once
dvd shrink uses a lot of memory and resources when it transcodes videos
it's a lot easier to just use your pc to get the job done faster

totally a pc's job, sure it would be cool on the xbox, but the encoding would be so nasty you'd never want to watch it

glad other people see it that way
xbox isn't ideal for doing encoding/transcoding
