feels like a very arcady version of graw, graphics wise id say its on par witht the multiplayer engine of graw. but with jumping and cars and motorcycles, im having fun with it.

i think this is great fun, 1 ill be getting for sure.
graphics are nice especially the water and explosions.
to be honest i think gears or war looks rubbish all of that pointless sci fi shooting....... lame.....

gears of war is a masterpiece, cannot agree. But that's a ways off, I need this game.

Wow, and I thought this game was going to be some boring ripoff of gta on farcry islands. The parachute and freefall are pretty cool (all I did in the demo was jump off mountains, parachuting my way down to the beach). The game also runs at a very smooth 30fps. The only problem I see are those tree shadows which, like that saints row demo, are pretty low res I think.

saints row is horrible compared to the versitility of this game. i love being able to parachute pretty much anywhere. bailing out of cars off a cliff is great. fun game!! can't wait for full, should have saints row totally finished by then.

im really surprised how smooth the game plays, the game is so gorgous when flying the chopper, the draw distance! after play MSs flight sim X on my pc (horrible graphics), this game might actually tide me over with its array of choppers/f15/stunt plane. im excited

Im still in love with just climbing to the upper atmosphere and just parachuting to my hearts delight, SO MUCH MORE SATISFYING THAN GTA:SA IN THAT DEPARTMENT! OH BUDDY!

Not to be a pedantic asshole but according to the 1-10 ratings scale 5 should be average. It's only due to stupid magazine writers in main stream publications that have pretty much turned it into a 5-10 scale with 1-5 reserved for games like Rise of the Robots.

The scale should read:

1- Terribel do not play.
2- Terrible but at the developer kind of made an effort
3- Very bad but has a few redeeming features which may require a viewing
4- A little below average, very rough around the edges.
5- Average, normal, un-spectacular.
6- Slightly above average. Worth a play.
7- Very good. You should probably buy this game.
8- Excellent. Get it if you can afford it.
9- Near perfect. Not one to miss.
10- Perfect as at this moment / genre defining to this point.

Or as EDGE now puts it in it's 'ratings explained' section, after countless arguments with readers over games they felt deserved a higher rating due to other publications preception of the 1-10 or 1-100% scale.

1 = 1
2 = 2
3 = 3
4 = 4
5 = 5
6 = 6
7 = 7
8 = 8
9 = 9
10 = 10

Oh and JimJom you hit it on the head with the Farcry / GTA comparison.

Twisted you're bang on the money. I think the parachite thing was even a combination rip-off of the parachite in san andreas and the extensive use of the parachute in Battlefield 2 (PC) where it is integral to gameplay.

I was impressed with the demo, I have to say its a bit arcady feeling, but its fun to drop in on shit. I hung onto a helicopter, hells ya. Could be a possible buy.

All 5 minutes I checked it out was good fun.  I don't like how the grass and brush models just kinda disappear into your car if you go offroading.  lol... granted you are not technically supposed to be doing that, but if you can it shoud look a little better!

I didn't read all the replies, but let me put in a few cents. The demo was a pleasant surprise. I would like to note that the under water effects were great as were the shadows the leaves in the trees created. I will be renting this for sure.
