Money For 1 New Game For The Next Few Months
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:36:00 PM »

let me say first that I like all these game types. My thoughts are on LOTR, Prey, or ChromeHounds. The reviews on all these games are a mixed bag, and I'm hoping someone will enlighten me with a clear and resounding yes to one of them. Thanks.

Don't buy Prey, because the online is laggy and nobody really plays it.  Rent it and Chromehounds if you are thinking about either.  As for LOTR its a game that takes time.  Do you play an hour or more at a time?

I myself am not considering buying anything until Splinter Cell is out.

Maybe set the money aside for the camera next month if you are interested in that or open up a Gamefly account.

In the next ferw months?

GEARS OF WAR! You have to know about that, right?

If you can wait a few months, then get GoW.  No doubt in my mind that it will be an amazing game (just don't buy too much into hype).

Get a GameFly (or Gamerang if you're on the east coast) subscription... $60 will las you 3 months and during that time you can have any two games at the same time and trade them in whenever you want...

you could play through Prey, Chromehounds AND LOTR and still have more gaming to do after that.

I rarely buy games anymore because I just rent everything, it's unbelievable how much gaming you can get in for so little $$

Thanks for the replys. Gears I understand isnt coming out til november, and I'll have dough ray set aside for the games coming that month, like Rainbow, Forza and Brothers in Arms. I'm looking for right now, for the three games I listed that have my interest. Already played COD2 and have no interest in Saints Row. I'm not a renter, because of time constraints. So anyone? LOTR, Prey or ChromeHounds? Thanks!

Putting it frankly, none of the 3 are really worth the money. Chromehounds would probably be my pick overall if you want something that keeps your interest longer then 3 days.

LOTR is an awesome game even after you play through the 2 single player options...online is a pain because of the differnt ways people play but its still a blast!

Great, thanks. LOTR and Prey sound like they are in the running now. I'm looking for single player, offline. I did briefly play my friends ChromeHound game yesterday, it was fun, but it definitely felt like it was meant for Live.

well, seeing as it takes most people 15 hours to beat prey twice (7.5 hours to beat if you only play it once), i'd say stay away from that if your looking for a single player to keep you busy for a few months. perhaps waiting a week and checking enchant arm might be worth while though, i can't wait for it smile.gif
