you guys actually agree with the way the cars handle? god i hate it! reminds me of the getaway, even gta car handling got on my nerves, but cmon this is awfull, understeer or handbrake...... hmm, would it kill them to have made it realistic? the tearing of the screen really gets to me aswell, must say i was looking forward to this one, probably still gonna buy it ......but not over TD:U.

You gota remember that this is not a driving simulator game. You got TD:U and PGR to fill that gap. I like the way cars handle cause they allow for more "movie-like" gameplay this way.

But, more importantly, I WANT DEAD RISING DEMO ON MARKETPLACE PLIX

if the demo is a reflection of the final version (which i believe it is) then it is too bad that the little things, like the tearing and framerate will kill this game.  also, i wish i could rob more things.  like when i walked into the liquor store and the lady working said "if you're going to rob me, make it quick" i thought to myself, "shit i wasn't going to but now i am" so i killed her and then wanted to proceed to loot. however, to my dismay, i was unable to loot or even break anything in the liquor store so i just ended up killing all the customers.  also, i don't always want to kill an innocent bystander to get their money, why can't i just jump them and steal their goods? this game has a lot of potential, unfortunately i think it is going to fall short.

Am I the only one who feels this game is too realistic?
I mean sure is still looks like a cartoon but I actuall felt sorry for the old lady I smaked to the ground and, instead of giving me shit like in GTA, she actually was begging me to stop.
Also car crashes when people go through the windows, I was shocked.

This game makes me feel guilt to play and that I'm some sort of evil criminal. I'm I being stupid or do other people here feel the same way?

Either way ths game is sure to be censored in Europe thanks to Germany.

Well I'm afraid I feel this demo is a huge let down, I mean truly and heres some of the reasons why:

GTA, True Crime and Driver all use the Triggers to stop and go. I understand the trigger is replaced to allow shooting, but honestly, I and I am sure more others will see this as a little nerve-recking to get used to. (Although braking is still on the left trigger which helps) but I like controlling my speed. Also, I hate the way cars stop, honestly, must the car always turn to stop and does it always take so long?

The way the guy runs bothers me a bit. I also believe he should run a little faster and more realistcally.

The way missions are handled are the same as GTA. Would be nice if maybe they incorporated something a little more less linear. Like it would be very nice if instead having madetory missions (Like your automatically in Saints against your will and must handle missions from them) that we are instead given choices. Such as we have a choice to choose between Group W,X,Y and Z.  W and X are at war with Y and Z. As we do missions for W and X, Y and Z begins to hate you and soon your standings change accordingly. And with each group, new missions/storylines emerge adding more to the realism and allowing replay value greatly.

Framerates are a problem, but suure that it will be fixed.

Graphics: Top notch for a demo and honestly this demo gives you an awesome feel of how the game may be.

Cops: I don't know about you, but I kept killing people and stealing cars, no cops came at all. Maybe none were around, but maybe this is good/bad. In GTA the cops were lax but in Driver cops would chase you for just crashing. But I don't really know how the cops handle in thia game though, but I would perfer if they were more challenging and added more to the realism, such as pit meanuvers, cops don't just mindlessly hit you, but instead use actual tactics, more roadblocks, spikes and maybe some more care for the being of the general public u know like in real life? I am sure no cop will kill a pedestrian to capture you. If they make cops a little more realistic, we'd see some more interesting getaways and maybe it will require us to think and be on our toes aswell..

Weapons: Some typical weapons in your arsonal. I am sure many more will be in the full game. Don't really know what to say I mean I am sure they want realism and guess using your typical weapons is the only way.

Overall: Some will say just another GTA knockoff for the Next Gen while other say this is a game all on its own. It borrows many elements from its predecessor while (maybe) incorporates some of its own. There is quite a bit of realism in here. From what the demo shows, if you want a GTA expierince(With no flying and prettier graphics) to keep you busy til more info on GTAIV is unvieled, this game is for you. But for the rest of us, keep playing SA and just wait, trust me, there are much better games in this genre on the way and I am sure it won't even be from R*

I give the demo a 6/10 (Mediocre)

I'll agree with the mediocre.  It seems ok. But I won't pay 60+ dollars for "ok."  I bought a blunt at the liquor store($20? and what dealer rolls blunts for customers? Wait, I don't know anything about drugs, they put people in cages) and would really have liked to percieve some kind of "stat change" like say, skooma in Oblivion.
Back on track, I will just wait for GTAIV.  Oh, yeah, and Just Cause looks kick-ass too.

The frame rate and screen tearing are starting to piss me off even with the finished games.  Wonder how the PS3 will compare?

Devs getting lazy or what?  Who wants to spend 60$ on a choppy ass game?

I love oblivion but the pop ups and skipping are really starting to chap my hide.  I sold Moto GP 6 too.  You would think with all the updates they do they could address some of this shit.  Thank GOD they fixed COD2.

Cant wait for some great games that are finished too.

Yes I do know this is a demo.  Im ranting about supposedly "finished" games.

ok, i want to address something because i think people are getting the wrong impression of "demos" on the 360.  demos, as we know them (before the time of the 360) are previews of future releases.  sometimes a demo will come out months before the actual game and will be similar but very different from the final version.  however, i believe 360 demos are but a mere "snapshot" of the final build.  the game is finished, then they take a part of the game that dev's think are a good selling point and package it into a "demo".  the only real demos we've experience are Lost Planet & Test Drive Ultimate.  The rest have been snapshots of the final builds, imo.

yeah? they need to state what it is on the loading screen though, like lost planet does, it clearly states its is far from a final build, just something to wet your tounge.  saints row should some where state either this is a snapshot of the final build, try this out. OR state that is not final code, so people wouldnt get confused.

as far as pc demos go they have usually been chunks of the final game...

Don't find this a valid excuse. Demos are put up for a taste or snapshot. I'm sure many people understand that it isn't supposed to be the final build but seriously, it feels like a let down compared to game in the past. I mean it feels like a "Been there, done that" kind of game with prettier graphics. When we want a snapshot, the developers must take these demos seriously, as if its the real deal. Honestly, I won't even buy a game now unless theres a demo or I rent it to get a feel of it. If your satisfied with what they delivered, than by all means, preorder it and get it on launch.

But in all honesty, This game delivers nothing new to this exhausted genre of free-form play (Besides being prettier). But guess not everyone can wait for GTA.

PREACH ON, BROTHER HAMWBONE!

I like this demo alot.  I'm actually itching to play more of the city and see what else is out there.  I think this game is gonna run sweet.  Had the demo since it came out and never looked at the background video playing before you press start.  I noticed that everything there runs freaking fast.  No slowdown.  Of course this is a video but I wouldn't doubt this is how smooth it will run. love.gif

i agree. that's why i think every "demo" on the 360 is a snapshot of the final build besides Lost Planet and TDU.  So basically, what i'm getting at is the retail game won't be any different.

i wasn't trying to make an excuse for the game, i was just trying to say i don't think the retail would be any different. a snapshot, to me, is a section taken out of the final game and just limited. in saints row case, it's limited by level size, there's a glitch for that, but still, that's how it's limited.

so, to sum it up: the only thing that will ever change from a marketplace demo to the retail disc is the size of the game.  unless the demos are Lost Planet and TDU, or any other demo that states WIP.  if it doesn't state it, it's final build and the game will play just like the demo.
