Developer Poll From Gameinformer
« on: July 14, 2006, 07:23:00 AM »

QUOTE
From Game Informer:

"There's always a lot of talk coming out of E3 about what was (and sometimes wasn't) seen and played. We do it, you do it, and it's sure as hell all over the internet. But what about the opinions of those who are going to actually shape the games we play in the coming months? What do the developers think? Game informer recently polled some developers to get their quick (and anonymous) take on some questions that are on everyone's mind. Although it's only a small sampling, we found some interesting answers that serve as a snapshot of the industry as we transition to the next-generation systems and possibly a shift in power as MS and Nintendo look poised to gain ground on the current-gen leader Sony."

Wii:

1.) Are you excited for the Wii? Yes-77%, No-23%

2.) If you port your game to the Wii, how hard is it going to be to adapt your title to that system? Hard-67%, Not so Bad-33%, Easy-0%

PS3:

1.) Will more development time yield better games on the PS3?

- No. For some reason I am feeling like the Saturn all over again.

2.) Is the PS3 too expensive? Yes-63%, No-37%

3.) How would you rate the PS3 dev kits at this point?

- Good-20%, Bad-20%, Average-20%.

General:

Which system are you most excited to develop for?

360-37%
PS3-16%
Wii-32%
PC-5%
DS-5%
PSP-5%

DS

1.) Do the Nintendo DS's dual screens make you more interested in developing for it?

Yes-38%, no-62%

Not that i really think this will make any difference in the console race or game announcements (money talks louder then any poll) but i still do like honest answers from developers.

also this comment from the article seemed rather vague or the poster didnt post the entire answer...

I don't think there was more to what he said... there is a LOT that can be read into what he said however and most aging developers will know what he's talking about.

I'm not that old.

Ummm... "Percent" Indicates proportion to the whole. The whole being 100. Since there were 3 answers given and each was 20%, this means 3 x 20. This equals 60. That leaves 40% left. Stop trying to look smart because when YOU do, you prove instead that you're not.
