Yep earthworm jim!! please!!! and pitfall! lion king? aladdin? oh and this is taking it back - commander keen! and digger? i can go on and on but some classics would really be brilliant. What about games off the commodore consoles? anyone remember Fire Ant from the commodore c-16? (and on the newer commodore 64 where graphics were slightly improved).

sorry to take this to a side point but when i used to play fire ant on my commodore c-16, the tape used to take like ages to load, and i used to hate it but love it too - like the anticipation of playing the game! getting psyched up to play and stuff - sitting there thinking of my strategies again (from last time when i died). and then boom it loads! and i'm fully 100% ready to play! loved that. its not the same when fire ant loads instantly from an emulator, not the same anticipation - hence why i still got my old commodore systems set up in my loft (got a bit of a retro console exhibition going on up there).

all the old retro classics sponge up more of my time than the new games do (apart from gta san andreas). Im sure i speak for many people here. Appreciation for how gaming started! It's nice to see that a next gen console is thinking about this appreciation for old games that defined the whole gaming era. After all if it wasnt for the old stuff there'd probably be no xbox 360.

with all this talk of EWJ and stuff it seems to me is that alot of you dont realize why its called XBL ARCADE... and not XBL Console... im not saying they wont bring a few console games over... but in my opinion its just very doubtful...

they should hook a deal with SNK and bring some Metal Slug, Samurai Showdown and KOF to the arcade...
or pull the RARE card and make Killer Instinct... hell I'll pay 1200 points for KI arcade with live play...

Finally, some more arcade games.  I'll definately be picking up all of these.  Never heard of Cloning Clyde though.  And like said above, I hope the releases continue at this rate.

Not to say that those games are cool and all... but what happen to Lumines. I thought that was suppose to come out in July, that was the only XBLA game I was looking forward to playing considering I played it on PSP and loved it. With it coming out on LIVE, I would love to see what the multiplayer games are gonna be like. Hopefully it'll still come out in July.

hells yes to those who want KILLER INSTINCT!
i wish there was more we could do to open MS/rares eyest to this!

but i have one question does this wednesday thing...like keep going after August 9th?

if it does then having them build up their cue of games so they could release one a week is worth it...
otherwise if it stops after that...then its lame, just release them all at once.

as far a frogger...crossing the road never seemed like a cool game to me...can live change that....i think not
now eating white pellets and blue ghosts...thats entertainment!

more specifically

QUOTE

The Washington-based publisher didn't reveal specific titles or dates past August 9, but it announced that 50 XBLA games will have shipped by year's end 2006, meaning 29 more games are in the hopper.

That means that in addition to big-name games such as Contra and Super Contra, Time Pilot, Scramble, Track and Field, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Defender and others, new, unannounced games are in development.

so it looks like the answer to your question is yes. smile.gif

it was, but it was playable with just the regular controller too. maybe they're thinking regular controller with the really devoted people using DDR pads (2 ddr games are scheduled to come out in the fall for 360)
