Can You Replace The Dvd Drive With A Cd-rom?

I have read the tutorials and have actualy replaced the dvd drive with a PC dvd drive. I have an old cd-rom drive around and my friend wants to play CDR discs on his xbox. I was wondering if you could do the same kind of swap with a cd-rom instead of a dvd-rom. I'm not planning on soldering it and fully replacing it. When he wants to play cdr he will just swap the drives.

Try it and see what happens, i don't think it'll hurt anything if it doesn't.. It should work tho.

It will work,I used to have one hooked uped to mine,but you have to
find one thats works with your xbox.
