Impressed With The New Trailers
« on: May 12, 2006, 10:22:00 AM »

I just got to the newest trailers on the marketplace from wednesday (i think), and since nobody's mentioned them yet, let me express my joy:

Prey:  wow.  totally forgot about this game but it looks incredible!  to be honest i don't even have any words to describe how great it looks.....i'd go so far to say it looks better than gears, specially the gameplay, with the crazy upsidedown doorways and whatnot.  unbelieveable graphics.

n3:  is this game coming to the US?  i hope so, i haven't seen a vid of this in almost a year it seems, and what they showed in game was awesome.  i usually don't like hack n slash that much but it kinda reminded me of the combat in Fable which I loved.  the battles in that game are gonna be huge, looks great!

viva pinata:  lol, if you haven't seen this trailer, despite what you've heard, check it out.  you'd be surpised.....well, i know i was.  i expected a kids game but i am sure this isn't one.

dam, i was sure i saw one more but i forget.  all in all i was really impressed with most everything they showed, but these 3 were nowhere near my "must have" radar, but seeing those trailers made my mouth water.

dont forget the tony hawk project 8 video.  while the series has always been praised about its great gameplay (to this day no skateboard game comes close) it has not always been a graphical showcase.  now however its one of the more impressive vids that i have seen yet, especially with how clean and solid the whole game looks.  with the ideas that they are planning for this game this is going to be a sure-fire hit.

yeah the Viva Piniata concept supprised me... basically it looks like a cross between Black and White and the Sims execpt it takes place in a dreamworld where every creature is a piniata...

I'm not yet sure if it's something I'd like or not but it's a very interesting concept.

I haven't downloaded the TH video, while I've bought every TH game made yet I didn't download the trailer figuring it would be more of the same... (and when it takes this long to download I'd rather pick and choose what I grab).

Anyway now I'll have to check it out... thanks for the heads up beerchug.gif

Viva Piniata has piqued my interest as well.  It reminds me of Black and White mixed with Pikmin (my fav cube game).  The graphical style is really different, cartooney yet detailed.  Looks amazing on the HDTV.  My girlfriend likesit too, so she'll think I'm buying it for her...  laugh.gif

The CoD3 trailor, on the other hand, at the ending was all scripted cgi (99% sure).  Hasn't the CoD franchise learned their lesson about using cgi for game trailors (they got in trouble for doing it for CoD2: Big red one, where people thought the cgi was in-game playable graphics). laugh.gif
