I never really liked the controls or the graphics in the other Colin Mcrae games, but I'm jonesin for some good rally action so I may have to check this one out.  I'm going to need a good rally sim as I'm selling my STi this week, and will be missing it greatly  sad.gif

I decided to go back to college full time in the fall and I'll have to quit my job to do that.  I won't be able to afford the payments and insurance anymore.  It's not all that bad, I've already purchased a replacement vehicle... an 01 GC8 (or GM6 for the picky).

Wanna buy it?  It's not too late!

damn dude...

I don't think I could afford that though, I've got an '02 Wrx that I'll probably be getting rid of soon, I wouldn't mind an STi but they're just too rich for my blood right now  rolleyes.gif

Unless you wanted to trade subies, Mine's a Cobb stage 2 with almost 100% aftermarket suspension so it's a hair under the power of a stock STi but handels a hair better.  smile.gif  MBP in color with 40K miles I was thinking of asking 16K for it... http://www.subydude....ail.php?pic=561

Man, believe me... I'd love to work a deal for your car, it's VERY slick and clean (plus I'm a big Cobb fan), but the whole purpose of the sale is so I can reduce my payments, insurance and gas costs significantly... so I had a strict $10g limit.  Plus, I already have a down payment on this puppy and I'll be picking her up tonight:

I'll sure miss the ol' turbo, but it will be nice owning a coupe again.

Nice, I love the old style imprezas...

You should wrap your STi around a tree, pay the $2K for the wreck, buy that old I-car and do a complete drive train swap  muhaha.gif

I'm kidding of course but that's what one of my buddies in college did (the tree part was accidental of course), that was one sick Impreza Coupe!

Actually I'm in a pretty good situation with my car, it's a Lease that ends in July, the buy out is only 8grand.

Since the book value is 16 (and I could probably make a few grand just parting out the aftermarket stuff) I plan on buying it out and re-selling it. Then using the 8-10 grand profit to by something else.

I'm strongly considering buying a 94ish 240sx... I have a friend who can get me a completely rebuilt RB25DETT for $2500  muhaha.gif

Besides for 4wheelin fun I just got this a few months ago:

Oh yeah... the topic... I never really like the Colin series, give me Rallysport or Sega Rally any day. I think the Colin series is TOO realistic to be fun most of the time.

another New Hampshire resident with a WRX i guess us NH people have good taste in cars. I have a Red 2004 WRX nothing done to it yet except full sound system not enough damn money with me going to college to do performance mods.

As far as rally games go i always prefered rally sport challenge over collin mcrae. I just liked the gameplay style of rally sport more

You did all that work to a lease car?!  laugh.gif I take it you don't bring it in for service often?

You'll definatly make more $$$ by parting the car out.  I got burned real bad when I sold my Celica GT-S because I sold off all my stock parts to pay for more mods and couldn't part it out.  Part of the reason I didn't mod the STi (that and the fact that it's already fast as hell).   I have big plans for the 2.5 however.  Suspension and brakes come first, but I hope to have her boosted by next summer.  So much for saving al that money biggrin.gif

I love the 240sx's.  I've had a thing for them ever since I saw Chunky Bai drifting at SEMA 2 years ago.

yeah people think I'm crazy for doing work to a Leased car... but I do all the work myself and I have every last stock part sitting in my garage (looks like a parts warehouse  laugh.gif )

There are some things I'm going to leave on the car because reverting to stock will be more of a pain then the parts are worth (like the springs/strut braces...etc). I've already reverted the stereo system, I had 3 piece Alpines in the front, 2 piece in the rear, an alpine 4905 head unit custom mounted into a gage pod, an 7.5" LCD screen where the old one went, an Xbox, Alpine V12 amp and 2 15" Rockford fosgate subs in a custom bass-reflex box.... Not to mention all monster wires for Power, Pre-amp and Speakers. Removed all of it last weekend and put it all back to stock. This weekend I'm probably going to do the turbo timer, intake, short shifter, shift knob, dead pedal, and reprogram the computer back to stock.

That will leave the suspension mods, exhaust and wheels and tires. Wheels and tires will come off and trade with the stockers and whoever buys the car will get about 2 grand worth of suspension and exhaust Parts (and all the stock parts if they so desire).

HKS Downpipe
HKS Up-pipe
HKS Hi-Power Catback with Silencer
Eibach Springs (1.1" lower then stock)
Eibach Shocks
Kartboy Endlinks
STi sub frame locking kit
STi Strut Tower Braces, front and rear
Cobb Tuning Swaybars, front and rear
and a full set of Cusco bushings all around.

No one wants used springs, shocks or bushings, the sways were a huge pain to replace and you cant use the stock endlinks with aftermarket sways, the strut tower braces aren't worth bubcus and I just don't feel like dealing with the exhaust system.

But with the Stereo Equipment, Cobb Computer tuner, and the wheels I should be able to make AT LEAST $2K, Plus I have a plethora of other part that I bought brand new and never got around to installing: Alpine Alarm system, A full set of STi Interior trim, Helix oil catch can, and a set of Bright Red Hella Supertones (those Hellas would look awesome under that 2.5s grill don't you think, nudge, nudge, wink, wink  rolleyes.gif ) Not to mention 3 different grills not including the stocker because it took me a while to figure out which one I liked  laugh.gif

I didn't feel to bad about doing all that to a leased vehicle because from day 1 I was planning on buying it out, I just couldn't afford the financing and really the suby dealer never gave me shit when I took it in, mechanics regularly complemented how nice the exhaust sounds, it makes a sweet low rumble, sounds like a chevy small block with a turbo  happy.gif

A 240sx will be cool, I want something that I can really tear apart and get dirty working on and come out with something really unique (not too many Silvias on US shores), besides it's the closes I'll ever get to an R34 Skyline  laugh.gif
