Pre-e3 Games & Features

Hello. There is a game thats coming out called "Seeing in The Darkness". It's made by the same company that did Riddick. It's looks awesome. Also they stated that there will be no custome ingame music feature for X360. I want know will the x360 OS overide this option & let us play our own music?

check it out. smile.gif

The "custom soundtrack" on the 360 goes through the dashboard, not the game.  Now, the game can in-clude custom soundtracks like the Xbox games could, but it is not an option, from my understanding, for the 360.  ALL 360 games can have music played over them through the 360 dash (using the guide button).

Note the Gamers Chat forum, to your left.

We're proceeding there now, as we pass the pinned thread about topicality on the way...  wink.gif

The PS3 will have a content size advantage with Blu-Ray and a CPU advantage for titles that are able to utilize a lot of the SPUs. The Xbox360 has a slight GPU advantage and its general purpose triple-core CPU is relatively easy to utilize compared to SPUs. I expect that it will be near impossible to tell Xbox 360 and PS3 screenshots apart

lol redwolf i just made a new topic with that quote.

anyways, i didnt know the game name changed as its always been called the Darkness.

as far as the custom soundtrack feature its true that its standard across almost every game.  it happens on the dash so there is no programming needed to use.  however a developer can still choose to disable this feature if they feel it may interfere with their game, the devs of Alone in the Dark already stated that there will be times during the game where you can not play your own music as it would ruin the mood.  does this mean you cant anytime during the game?  i dont think so, but only during important scenes or instances.  i think it would take more work to disable this feature then to leave it be as developers would have to actually do extra programming to disable functions from the dash.

IMHO, i dont see a reason to use CS for most games unless its fighting, racing, or online (wont play music during CoD2 offline but will online for example).  if a developer will put effort into the music for the game to add to the mood and setting then i usually leave it as is.

I agree completely, XBLA games too...

But 99% of the time I leave the music as-is... only if it starts to get on my nerves will I change it, like with THAW  rolleyes.gif

Agreed, Riddick was awesome on the Xbox1, easily one of my favorite games, fantastic graphics too. I cant wait to see how The Darkness comes out.

And BTW.. AFAIK It's still called "The Darkness", atleast according to both the official site and Xbox.com
http://www.xbox.com/.../t/thedarkness/
http://www.starbreeze.com/darkness.jsp

Considering it's based on a comic book of the same name I wouldn't imagine it would get changed.

Also isn't this game suposidly published by Majesco and didn't they get bought out, or dissapear or something?

The only 2 cd's I've ripped to my 360 so far is Slipknot-Subliminal V3 and Tupac-Greatest Hits (great combo huh). I haven't had much free time to rip cd's, so I'll get more on later. It is funny running around Oblivion with Tupac playing though. I do love having Slipknot playing in Oblivion too, especially in the fights, gets me hype.

on my Xbox 1 had Bush: Deconstruct, White Zombie: SuperSexySwinginSounds, and Apollo440: Gettin High on Your Own Supply laugh.gif

The 360 is setup to stream from my PC with all 35GB of music I ripped myself.

I'm actually in the process of RE-RIPPING my entire collection because I don't like the quality from when I did it the first time  rolleyes.gif (using EAC with LAME this time)

Maybe if I get really bored I'll create an online database of all my CDs like I did with my DVDs.

Hey twisted, can you stream mp3's on the 360? I think I saw somebody say it worked, but I connected via windows media connect and all it saw was every .wma file on my PC, didn't show a single mp3.
