what kind of setup you got, make sure to flip the hdtv switch on the connector to the xbox and in the dashboard make sure to change it to the correct settings

try deleting all your halo stuff off your hard drive or memory card, then make sure all the settings are correct like the switch i know that fucked me off before when i first got my 360 the saturday before launch date bc i didn't know there was a little switch

Same here.  Halo 2 looks like crap on the 360.   Don't even try playing split screen.  It splits left and right instead of top and bottom.  Couple that with horrible graphics and you can forget sniping or anything else that needs fast reflexes.

Haven't tried it on the 360 yet, but on xbox 1 changing the video display from normal/letterbox/widescreen changes the vetical/horizontal in H2. When I first got H2 my friend and I play it at my house and then the next day it was verticle on his screen. Took an hour or so to figure out. But not sure if the 360 will do it though.

I play halo 2 using the vga cable. If you put the resolution on anything but the lowest it will split it vertically. It will be split horizontal on the lowest setting. Not sure if it works the same with the component cables.
