Today we have 3 new additions to the slowly but continuously growing XBox Live Market Place. There is a trailer and picture pack (80 points) for Final Fantasy XI, as well as a playable demo for Amped 3. While it may have not gotten the best reviews, you can't beat a free playable demo. Check the new content out.

sounds good for anyone interested.  i loved the first two amps but this one didnt catch my eye in the same way.  i know i wont buy the game but maybe a free demo would be fun.  also why they release a trailer for FFXI is beyond me, are they trying to lose sales?  when you look at this video im sure it will pale in comparison to what 360 owners are playing now.

also new vids for tomb raider, xmen 3, chromehounds, Rockstar Table tennis, VF5, Zegapain XOR, and a japanese baseball game.

Zegapain XOR:

I actually loved Amped 3...

it's only $40 at Best Buy and worth every penny at that price point IMO. it's a short game but I found it to be very fun and very entertaining.... I had more fun playing through Amped 3 then I did through Kameo. One thing to keep in mind: it's NOTHING like the older Amped games, but I wasn't much of a fan of the older Amped games so that works for me.

Watching the VF5 trailer... what is it with Sega and their next gen character graphics? Condemned, HOTD4, and now VF5, all the character models look like their made of shiny plastic and have nothing to help smooth out the polygons. I mean in Condemned the guys cheekbones came to a point below his eyes, and in VF5 you can see the detailed muscle in the guys back but you can also tell it's roughly molded with a handful of polygons.

Do they not use normal mapping or something? I mean I love their games but seriously you can do better then that for character graphics. I could care less if they looked less real but at least get rid of the shininess.

i thought the amped 3 demo was ok, even though i prefer good old tony hawk if my feet are going ot be planted on a board of sorts.

the one thing that kinda bugged me was that cut scene... that alone would stop me from purchasing the game... man, talk about annoying... wonder if the game is filled with those vanilla ice style rap segments.

there are lots of cut-scenes in the game, they're all done in different styles though, the "rap" one was just one of 30 or so... some are more entertaining then others, and they're spread out enough that it's not annoying.

What exactly does the demo consist of?

kikizo got that news off of an ign article that jumped the gun and said it was a ps3 exclusive but later they took back the report and admitted it was only speculation.  yu suzuki said it in a rescent interview that a system is not decided and that it will be hard to develop on these next gen systems because of the challenges that making a high def game brings to the table.  i wouldnt be surprised that it came to the ps3 but im still holding out hopes it hits the 360 as well.

as for it kicking DoA4's graphics, thats a matter of opinion, however i can bet that DoA4 has as many poly's, effects, and shaders as VF5 does if not more.  i love the VF series with a passion but comparing the two is not ideal.  VF has inclosed arenas where DoA has sprawling huge fighting stages.  also the anime look that the DoA series immitates throws a lot of people off to how good looking (visually and technically) the game really is.  i rather have the anime look of the DoA4 characters then the rolled around in oil slick look of the VF characters.  i do admit the game looks real sharp and nice but in regards to the graphics its all opinionated.

basically shows a huge map with a bunch of locked icons, and about 4 unlocked ones you can select and just go from point A to point B racking up as many points as possible.

the first time you play you collect 10 easter eggs, i guess there might be another actual mission or two in the demo, i didnt play it long enough.
