That game actually looked pretty damn fun.  Imagine a star wars game using those physic effects, you could use the force to chuck crazy shit at the enemies.

Your right. It is a chipset and this is just a demo made to show off the possibilities of the new chipset.

well if the Physx were to come on the 360 theres no trouble they could make it utilize one of the cores out of the 3 i would think

just like havok, Ageia makes physics software.  however unlike havok Ageia is soon going to be releasing a PPU (physics processing unit) for the pc.  even though the ps3 and 360 lack the actual PPU does not mean it can not utilize the physics software for its games, just with no PPU it will be more of a strain on the CPU.  even though there is no PPU on either console developers can devote a core/thread or SPE entirely to running the software, however IMO i dont think it will be as efficient as a dedicated PPU.  in the end, this demo could entirely be done on the 360, looks fun

What did I miss here? I didn't see any groundbreaking physics, just a bunch of simple boxes thrown around. sleeping.gif

I've been more amazed at HL2 and U3 physics demos with real, complex objects.

It's the amount of items onscreen at the same time interacting with each other and the environment, very smoothly too.

I like the bit where someone is carrying a metal orange container over their head, and our guy comes from above and "force squashes" him (theres 2 people just before the character goes on the lift, one is squashed, the other is shot) (03:34 - 03:40)

HL2's physics were nice, but just a few objects, if you used Garrys Mod and had too many items it really slowed down.
