Electronic Arts currently holds a 68 percent stake in the Swedish studio. The two companies have collaborated on the popular Battlefield franchise, which began with first-person combat title Battlefield 1942 on the PC in 2002 and has spawned a number of follow-ups across platforms, including last year's Battlefield 2.

As part of the merger, DICE shareholders will SEK 67.50 per share in cash. The deal is subject to two-thirds approval at the DICE's Annual General Shareholders Meeting, set for May 24, 2006.

rallisport is such a great game anod now we either wont see another one or it will suck...

RalliSport Challenge 2 was my favorite racer ever. I cannot begin to express how bummed I was when I found that it wasn't on the BC list. I've traded in all my old xbox games except Halo2 and Rallisport2 in hopes that we one day get an update to that BC list.

lowendfrequency..its my fav racer too. One things for sure, it will no longer be an exclusive, which means its *port* time, that alone is depressing.

O god i would cry really hard if they messed up RSC. I think the only other way to enjoy rally racing more than that game would be to actually race and i dont have that kind of money.

No, I meant to say I dont like this at all, DICE (and refractions) and BF series is my favorite long-running series and EA will make sure to run it into the ground, I fear.
