Game Reviews On "the Scene"
« on: March 08, 2006, 09:36:00 AM »

I like reading others' reviews of games, but they never influence me to either rent or purchase any game. I just like reading what other people had to say about a game. Sometimes, a reviewer will point out something about the game I hadn't noticed, but my renting/purchasing of a game is guided solely by my own opinions and expectations. That's just me. Others might find the reviews helpful; whereas, I find them entertaining.

B ) how long does it usually take for a MOD to take a review out of shadow mode?

from the time I see it till the time I finish reading it...

when we were getting a decent amount of reviews I'd try to check it ever day, I'll check it every few days now, other mods check and approve as well.

On occasion it can take longer if the review didn't follow the guidelines to the letter, I'll often ask another mod for a second opinion. There are a number of tutorials that just never got approved, either too short, not through enough, or didn't follow the guidelines closely enough. I'll typically PM the reviewer if their review doesn't get approved so they have the opportunity to re-write it if desired.

EDIT: and yes I have read your review... I've asked for a 2nd opinion on it, you'll know shortly.

Oh, I wasn't sure if it was an involved process or not. Anyway, if there are any concerns with it let me know and I'll see what I can do to fix it
