With The End Of The Olympic Games Coming...
« on: February 25, 2006, 07:58:00 PM »

So I'm sitting here watching the games on Sat night,
and got to thinking of Olympic games (or similar types) that I've played on
various systems in the past....
Track & Field, Decathalon, Various games on the C=64
(Summer Games, Winter Games, etc...)

After this, many olympic games have been made for
PC and others, but they all kind of sucked.

Now with the age of online play, wouldnt an Olympic
series just be totally great?  (assuming the gameplay would
actually be fun)

I would love to sit down and compete against real people.
That was the best part of the games of the past... sitting
down.. popping open a few beers and relaxing with some
fun competition.

What would be even cooler, would be events where judges are
involved... you could cast a vote to have the computer do the judging
or other people in the room that are 'watching' do the voting...

What do you think?

Nagano Winter Olympics '98 for N64.
I can't remember, but it was either AWESOME or totally sucked.
I'll think on it...

Apparently it sucked

The olympic games for the Commodore 64 ROCKED.... LOL I had so much fun back then

Isn't there a Torino Olympic game out? If so does it have XBL? and is it compatible for 360 (probably not)

Since we are on the topic of online.... and this question is off topic at the same time, LOL, but why doesn't EA Sports inlcude online leagues in it's NHL series? like Sega does

I never cared for sports games. Especially stuff based on Olympics. You know they just got some cheapo 3rd party developer to slap something together and make use of the Olympic liscense and get some cash.
Sounds like something EA would do...
