Thanks so very much for these. You are truly a legend!!!

Quick question though. How do you resize the screen? I've tried pretty much every button/stick/pad combination with no success.

Though it does look like there is a glitch in the way it works in rRootage, it seems as if the X lock button locks the bomb/special key... so if i hit X in Normal mode it will fire all my bombs one right after another.  The speed of my ship doesn't seem to be affected.

Personally I don't mind the slow-down on harder stages -- I even think it might be built into the original -- as dodging all the bullets on screen at 60fps would be near-impossible!

rRootage is the free software for Windows(OpenGL required).

I think you're the first one to port an OpenGL game. beerchug.gif

I would absolutely adore seeing PARSEC47 and/or TUMIKI Fighters (is that right? too lazy to double-check) ports as well. Hopefully it can be done without too much hassle!

Also, I am impressed by how you guys really listened to the feedback from noiz2sa. It was awesome to see screen resize and d-pad support in rRootage before I even got to bitch about it! (Found noiz2sa just this weekend.) wink.gif

Unfortunately, though, I have some issues with rRootage that I feel I should express. First of all, I agree with splat in that there's definitely a big problem with the bombs. Every time I press the X button, every bomb in my inventory will go off successively. This also seems to happen by itself sometimes when I die. Not every time, I think, just sometimes, it'll blow off all my bombs when I respawn. A little annoying, but since I usually don't use bombs it's not a huge deal. Would be nice to see a fix, though!

The other problems I have are a little tougher -- my biggest problem being switching polarities in IKA mode. Now, I don't have much experience with the PC original of rRootage, but I've been asking around and PC players I know claim that this should be much swifter and smoother than I am experiencing in the Xbox port. As it stands now on Xbox, it is basically (and very unfortunately) unplayable in IKA mode. Switching colors requires you to basically stand still, and just simply takes too damn long to be of any use or any fun at all, really. Are my PC friends wrong, or could this be fixed in a future update?

Second problem is the shield in GW mode. Again, my own experience is limited, but it seems to me that the shield should appear much faster. As it stands, it takes several seconds to pop up and as such is rather useless. Since you have no bombs in GW mode, this shield is supposed to be your panic button and since it takes so long it'll never save you from any dangers.

Again, these last two aren't based entirely on my own experience and as such I apologize if any of them are incorrect and these are unfounded complaints. I just found the bonus modes in the game to be very oddly designed and got confirmation that makes it seem to me as if something's off.

Thanks for the awesome ports, though, and please do keep considering to port Kenta's other works. Hopefully this post is seen as helpful criticism rather than nit-picking critique, as that was not how it was intended.

I will fall in line and shower these ports with praise. They are indeed awesome and having them is some of the best usage I've gotten out of my modded Xbox. I'm a big shooter fanatic, so...yeah, I'm serious. wink.gif

The reflect barrier in GW mode is meant to have start up time, just like GigaWing (GW), try playing GigaWing in FBAx(xx) to see what I mean. I think that's the price you pay for having infinite of them.

I'd like to add a suggestion.
The screen resize sometimes makes the side borders of the game visible. I don't know how to explain it, but if you resize the screen too small, you can see over and under the borders at the side.

which button do you use in ika-mode to switch? you should use "B" and NOT "X", that could be your problem. I had no problems playing ika-mode with it...

but you're right, I should fix the "X"-Button-Problem in rrootage.

I know the draw-error with screenresize but thought, you normaly resize it to fit to your screen and than you're not seeing it none the less..

But when I resize so I can see all the numbers (score, lives, etc), I can see over the borders. Would it be possible to have a manual screen resize?
