Long ago I imported Shutokouo Battle 1 for Jap Dreamcast and I must say I'd gladly import the 360 version if it's just as fun. Can't wait to play online against the people in Japan, all 12 of them.

This is the same game as "Tokyo Xtreme Racer" it's just called Shutokou ("Highway" I believe) Battle in Japan.

I believe all the previous version were released in the US TXR1 and TXR2 were on Dreamcast TXR0 and TXR3 were on PS2.

A LONG time ago I remember reading that they'd be bringing TXR4 to the 360... so this makes sense.

"Shuto" means capital, and "kou" means high, from kousoku-doro (lit. high speed road).  The Shutotokou is the highway system (literally, it's mostly all up on risers above the city) that runs around and through Tokyo (the capital) in a doughnut shape.

If you've played the others and been on the first "areas" where the Gaikan is.. that's where I live.

That would be Kaido: Touge no Desetsu.. (read as: "Highway: Legend of the Pass" ... man that's clunky).

Interesting that the latest TXR isn't listed on Genki's official site yet... unsure.gif

And no, no modchip.  Might get lucky if they release the game are region-free (not bloody likely though...).

doing some quick google research, a Tokyo Xtreme Racer game was tentatively announced for the 360 at the last Tokyo Games Show. They had a trailer as well

I'm at work so I can't watch the trailer now... but you can bet I will when I get home, I love this series and own all of the US DC and PS2 versions.

i loved part 1 and 2 on the DC, thought part 2 was gorgeous!  nice trailer, havent seen that one yet, only seen the announcement trailer from the TGS.  

only question i have is how much of that trailer was real time?  a lot of it looked really impressive.
