A new Tomb Raider celebrating Lara Croft's 10 anniversary might be in the works. Games Radar writes: "In an announcement today, publisher SCi has revealed plans to release a special edition of Tomb Raider later this year to celebrate Lara's 10th birthday. Exactly which Tomb Raider will be getting the special edition treatment hasn't been confirmed - could SCi be remaking the original Tomb Raider?"

Doubtful we could expect a full game with Tomb Raider Legend's pending release in a few months. So would a remake of the original suit your fancy?

I'd LOVE a 360 remake of TR1 and TR2.  

I'd love it even more if they were free packins with a "Collectors Edition" version of Legends (a la Quake 2 in the Quake 4 360 package).  

Hell, I'd pay the full $60 for both (in the same package) if the graphics were prettied up to 'Legends' quality.  That's assuming Legends comes out smooth.

They can keep it if it's TR3, TR4 or TR:AoD.

"remaking the original Tomb Raider"  blink.gif  what, so they gonna bring back the grid based level design, IMO ain't gonna work nowadays generation as all the level will "look" too square. i'll still buy it though. or they might use the new TR: Legend and remake the exact levels  love.gif

i liked part 3, still a lot of out door levels and nice graphical showcase back then.  after that one though it really took a dive.  

give me grid based or legends gameplay, ill be happy with either.  the funny thing is that when TR1 first came out, many loved and raved about the controls and how good they were for a 3d environment.  i played the game just fine then, ill play it just as well now.

I never owned the original on PS1, and probably played about an hour of it all up at a mate's house. But if they do remake it, I'll be getting it for sure. I seem to remember it being decent, and everyone I know who played it loved it. And remakes seem to be the way to go nowadays. Conker Live and Reloaded was just amazing, so this must be too. Hope it goes ahead.
