I doubt you would see any difference at all unless the two inputs have calibration/setting differences.

Not sure how much they are, but why not buy a selector switch for your component cables. http://www.svideo.com/com3.html Its a bit more than a vga cable, but just a suggestion.

Um again I will say. Wallmart carries a HD switch for like $30. It supports HD/Component/Svideo. And works very good.

Are you guys even reading the first post?  He says he doesn't want to use a switch box because he thinks he might get annoyed with it.  He was wanting people's opinions on the video quality of a component signal versus a VGA signal.
