Halo 2 Question
« on: December 18, 2005, 08:55:00 AM »

I just got a premium today and I was wondering if the new emulators have been released.  I remember reading that the updated emulators for original xbox games messed up Halo 2.  That's the only xbox game I want to play, so when it gave me the option of downloading the update I declined.  Has this been fixed?

Also, how do I play Halo 2 on xbox live?  It won't let me sign in, it just gives me the option of 1)no sign in 2) register new account.  Any help is appreciated.

Choose the refreshing image type, not the flash type.

As for your question, any clearups on Halo 2 issues will get my attention (hope it runs fine with my 360 when I get it).

I downloaded all the updates and installed the new maps.  Halo 2 is working on live.  Unfortunately, I haven't played on live since I modded my original box... I'm a bit rusty!

To tell you the truth, almost every online shooter of that popularity is like that.

This is easy.  First of all, the new BC update that you will be prompted to download will MOST DEFINATELY fix the odl one's mistakes.  Honestly, the only problem with the first one wasa 16:9 hud fuck up, which really wasnt shit to begin with (I have a 16:9).

As soon as you start emulating an XBOX (original) game (halo 2 in your case) you will be asked to download the backwards compatibility list for December. This one is the fix, so get it.

Now, try online...if not, then take out the disc and sign into your account via the 360 dashboard. once you're logged into live on your controller, put the disc back in and it will work.  Since, however, halo 2's user accounts are not 360-unified you will have to chose your character just like the old days and then sign into the appropriate xbox live acocount (if you have more than 1 XBL acc registered on your 360.  I happen to have 5 XBL accounts on mine.).

Good luck bud.

They're up to the 4th version of the Halo 2 profile from what I can tell

1. included with the Xbox 360 hard drive, has no graphical updates

2. inlucded 720p and FSAA support

3. disabled 16:9 due to a bug with V2

4. re-enabled 16:9 after the bug fix.

There may be more versions then that... but their has been at least 4

as for your sig... I'll fix it for ya  wink.gif

The latest patch I got was last week and everything works great.

I haven't encountered any problems as of yet.

My sniping is almost back to where it used to be (I'm used to playing with the Duke). wink.gif

How are the joysticks on the 360 controller? Stiff, loose? Really stiff at center? More like Xbox Type S or PS2?
My firend has been complaining about his experience with the new sticks and plans on getting a mad catz when it comes out.

They are stiff like the s-type, and not loose like the duke sad.gif .  Particularily stiffer at the center.  They also have less range of motion then either of the two.

Also the neck has less girth, and is shorter then either of the xbox controllers.

IMO, all 3rd party controller, especially mad catz, but excluding logitec, controller suck; particularily the analog sticks.

I did purchase those geltabz covers for the 360 analog stick which make it better, but still not as good as the dukes analog sticks.
