EA was hated long before the nfl incedent.
its quite complicated, but basically what started it off was the fact that EA's games had really no updates between each year. people started realising it was the same shit each year, and got upset, yet still bought into it.
Ontop of this, a blogger posted his wifes experience at EA. EA was forcing very long overtimes, borderline child labour. Paying very little wage for the forced overtime. Having unrealistic deadlines forcing employees to work overtime. In general, a forced way of working. Rather then rewarding employees to get them to work more then normal (extrinsic incentives) they basically said, get the project done or you ma'am/sir are done.
once this happened, everyone hopped on the bandwagon of EA hating. a good reason to hate EA, but jumping on the bandwagon none the less.
so, now we have the EA hating club, whereas everything EA publishes is now shit. Come along the NFL problem. EA felt the heat, had alot of money, and took up the offer of the NFL. Now, to set the record straight, EA didnt buy out the NFL, the NFL offered a contract to EA. So the EA haters club is likely wrong with what they tell you. Either way, a stupid move none the less.
So in general, id say most the reasons people hate EA arent their own opinions, rather someone else theyre nut huggin and feel they should spread that persons opinions to the public.
Dont mind me BTW, a little bit intoxicated

so yeah, in general why people hate EA is because:
horrible working conditions (im sure have changed by now)
the nfl liscense
the bandwagon
lack of change
since then however, EA has been pumping out innovative things in their games, which im sure the nut huggers will say isnt so innovative cause its been used already, but by whom? EA. ie: the right joysticks control. All i can say is pwnage.
Anyone play nhl 2006? hands down the best nhl game out so far

BTW: not an EA fanboy, nor a sega sports fanboy. I just like whats best, and tbo, EA has smartened up. Even with the 06 lineup for the 360, i thought theyd be ports judging from EAs past, but clearly different games. The closest port for the 360 would have to be madden and nhl, aside from that, all games look completely different, and play much better on the 360

anyways, enjoy my rant. try and find the guys blog about his wife working at EA. its actually quite interesting.
anyone here work at EA or have a friend working at EA in BC? id like a cheap game or two
