Brute Force Developers Shut Down.
« on: December 02, 2005, 08:10:00 AM »

sad news indeed for those of us who were hoping for a sequal on the 360  sad.gif   i love co-op and this aspect was great on the first xbox.  hopefully even though the team was sent to different MGS teams since MS still owns the rights to the name, they have one of their teams make a sequal.

Digital Anvil, a company formed by Wing Commander designer Chris Roberts and acquired by MS Game Studios in 2000, has closed its doors, with staff being redeployed to the MSGS headquarters in Redmond.

Formed in 1996, the small developer worked on its first PC and Dreamcast title, Starlancer, for four years. Shortly afterwards, the studio was acquired by MS Game Studios and its founder promptly moved into a consultancy role while pursuing other projects.

From readint that, it just sounds like they've been moved to M$'s headquarters (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

i thought they were spread out through the various teams in MGS.  regardless the big factor to me is that i was hoping for (maybe lost hope) a sequal to brute force on 360 but with huge co-op and LIVE features.  the original may have not matched the hype to many but it was still the best and fastest selling xbox game at its release which should mean something in regards to a sequal.

I totally agree there.
I thought it was a very good game. People thought it was the next Halo or something and that's probably why they came away disappointed by it. But I say they deserve it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I too would love to see a sequel and I get the feeling that we will (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pop.gif)

wow, it's good to hear other people who enjoyed Brute Force! I couldn't believe the ratings it recived by most zines. I though it was a great multi-player game. The graphics were good, and the controls were awesome IMO. The weapons, characters, and levels rocked too. I was embarrased to admit that untill now. Right on  biggrin.gif I hope they make a sequal for the 360 too.

Don't ever be afraid to admit something, expecially on a forum where people see nothing but text  laugh.gif

Brute Force kicked much ass. If you got 4 people together that actually used each character as they were meant to be used, the game made for the best Lan parties, period.

The graphics were awesome for its time, still are infact. I had a blast sniping with Flint thruout the campaign   smile.gif
