Halo Not In True 720p?

Well I played some Halo 2 a few days ago in true 720p and it was great. I wanted to play Halo all the way to the end again in 720p since I was under the impression it was in true 720p when played on the 360.

I booted it up and the 360 outputs a 720p signal according to my TV but the only video displayed is in 4:3 since there are large black bars on each side of the image.

I put Halo 2 in my 360 again just to make sure I was not crazy and sure enough it works great with no black bars.

Is there something I need to do to get Halo in true 720p or is this all I get?

EXACT SAME THING IS HAPPENEING TO ME!!!!!!! I hope this get's fixed, I was really looking forward to replaying Halo in 720p...

make sure that the  video settings is set to 720p... I beleive thats your problem.. cause I seen the game at 720p with no sides..

i think this was because of an update to the emulator profile...I remeber reading about it somewhere here in the forums.

There's nothing wrong with your setup.  That's how it is supposed to be.  I was surprised too.  Come to find out Bungie really mislead everyone about Halo Combat Evolved.   dry.gif

Bullshit.  Halo 1 was never widescreen, and still is not in 720p.
