Check for a break or slice in your power cord.

Try a different power cord.

Try a different outlet.

Since you have already tried a replacement power supply...

Im not sure what your abilities are, but here goes:

1) Find a multimeter, set it to measure voltage
2) Plug the xbox power cord in
3) Connect the black lead of the meter to the metal casing of the xbox
4) Measure the voltage on Pin 20 of the PIC, it should be 3.3V.

Looking at the motherboard with the AV plug at the top, the PIC (PIC16LC63) can be found up and right from the LPC port.  It is a retangular with 14 pins along each of the long sides and has PIC........ written on the top.  In one corner is a small circle indent - this shows the position of pin 1.  Count down this side, go across and back up the other side to find pin 20.

5) If that is ok, measure pin 18.  It should be 3.3V, changing to 0V when you hold the power button in.

Thats a start, hopefully you can figure that out otherwise I will try and find a photo to draw on.

Is your post applicable to a 1.6 XBOX.  I have the same NO POWER issue, but cannot locate this PIC chip you speak of.

Thanx

biggrin.gif

I found a "2BF" transistor on an old USR Modem that wasn't working.  I used it to replace the transistor identified in the PDF and vio'la!  It worked fine!!

Thanx a bunch.  After going thru so much to get this 1.6 softmodded and then to have it quit like that was very frustrating.
