US 360 backward-compatibility list shrinks?-- Posted by XanTium on December 1 16:09 EST
From joystiq.com:

One of our intrepid readers compared the current U.S. backward-compatibility games list for the Xbox 360 with an older version saved locally, and came up with a few missing titles that had been included before.

After comparing the current list with the one transferred to an Excel spreadsheet a while back, he concluded that the following games had been excised from the master list (in its current form): Catwoman, Codename: Kids Next Door, Curse: The Eye of Isis, NBA LIVE 2003, Sid Meier's Pirates, and Star wars: The Clone Wars.

Weird... Must be a mistake on MS's part.

Just tried Sid Meier's Pirates! and it works, so either the emulation is buggy (I only just now tried it for all of a minute to see if it was backwards compatible) or it's just an error in the updated list.

That's pretty funny but at least it's half honest.. "sorry we thought it worked  uhh.gif".

Anyways, I don't care much about backwards compatibility but i care less for people using it as an excuse why X system is better than Y system.

Maybe its cause some of those games suck and MS is embarrassed that ppl would see them actually wasting time working on these games for BC! tongue.gif

It's more likely that they fucked something up and decided to remove support until the bugs were fixed.

i'm gunna guess that they have a generic emulation profile that they test games on and tweak from there,.. so these titles probably worked at first glance,... but were not play tested 100% and now that they have been, they found some bugs that need squashed, so just remove them from the list to limit inbound complaints about things not working.

I would of thought that all Live games would of been supported.  I never heard of most of these games. blink.gif
