Xbox 360 Live - Halo 2?

QUOTE(Flagg3 @ Dec 5 2005, 03:10 PM) View Post

Umm, maybe it's just me, but judging from the same spelling and grammatical errors, the same exact opinions, and the similar ridiculous posting habits, it would appear that Kage360 could possbily be another account used by Carlo210!  (Or maybe they are both just young kids, not really sure how to tell them apart...)

This will be my last post to either of you, but you really need to get a life instead of spending it posting thousands of messages here.  I flamed MS.   If you don't like it, too bad.  Don't attack me because you're a 12-16 year old MS fanboy.  I spent well over $1,000 for the ability to upgrade my multiplayer experience.  If MS didn't live up to their promises, you better believe I'm going to hold them accountable.

It works well enough for you, glad to hear it.  Halo 2 worked fairly well for me the first night I tried it alone on Xbox Live as well.  It DOES NOT work properly on split-screen multiplayer system link, period.  People here want to know that.  The Halo franchise outsold any other game by 10 to 1 on the Xbox, simply because no other game comes close to the multiplayer gameplay.  The bottom line is that without a good Halo experience, the demand for the Xbox 360 will be far lower than it could be.  There is a reason that the number 1 question asked of MS before the 360 launch was whether there would be a Halo product available for the system, because it is important to many, many buyers.

And I apparently have to explain this to you once again, because you obviously missed it in my last message:

BUNGIE DOES NOT NEED TO PULL PEOPLE FROM THE HALO 3 TEAM TO FIX HALO 2!  Now go away and let the adults speak.  Or at least learn how to use a spell checker, because your posts make my eyes hurt.

to think that im carlo, LMFAO!!!  no im not him, he is 16 and i dont spell sold as selled, however i am older and old enough to remember many system launches way back.  you would have to be in your 50s to talk to me like some kind of kid so i would calm down ok boy?  i dont spend all day or night in front of a computer posting away, in fact latly i only go to this forum while im at work.

i think i hit a nerve with you with some of the things i have said.  regardless if you agree but its the truth, MS did more then what any of has expected.  i play on a monitor and havent had any problems what-so-ever other then the slight alterations mentioned before.  i could honestly care less about MS, i think they do good as a company but i dont devote my life to them.  i dont see what part of their promise do they not keep up on.  they said BC emulation on halo 1 and 2, plus some of the top selling games.  many people expected between 15-20 titles on launch day and we got around 200 and yet people like you still find a reason to bitch because you choose to play last gen games on your next gen system!!  faulty or not you got your BC emulation, nothing that has to do with emulation is perfect the first run through and i wouldnt be surprised if MS improved the existing code with every additional update while adding more games to the list.  you tell me to get a life when your the one who spent $1000 to play a last gen game  huh.gif  people like you are beyond words sometimes.  have no worry about a good halo experience effecting the 360 demand because everyone with half a brain (let me know if im going too fast for you) know that halo 3 is indeed headed to the 360 and just to let you know there is no specific halo 3 team, there is only bungie and they are already split in staff.  i get all your points but that doesnt mean that i have to agree with someone spewing garbage.  i believe and im sorry to anyone having problems with BC or anything else to do with their 360s but one: it should be expected because nothing is perfect the first run and two: in the end its still more then we need or expected, if you were expecting beyond reality then that is no ones fault but your own.  maybe these issues come from individual consoles or what TVs they are being displayed on but im dont care enough for halo to lie and say im not having any of the problems that you guys speak of.  like many people you like to assume things of which you do not know, i love the halo series and yet i dont care much for the multiplayer, has it ever accured to you that there are as many people who play the games for the single player and story as their are who play deathmatch??  and maybe that is why the biggest complaint when geared towards multi-player was the lack of promised online/LAN co-op play!

i said i dont want a flame war and yet you find it hard to cope with anything i have to say.  many people find the truth rather harsh so i wont hold it against you too much but again maybe you should look at the bigger picture when playing games and just appreciate what you got since it was never expected to begin with (and by that i mean way back when the console was first mentioned and BC was just up in the air).

Hey, that's not very nice. I use proper grammar and english. That 'selled' error was just an overlooked part of an edited sentence.  smile.gif

To Flagg - Even if it was a spelling error, there's no need for you to beat up on it. Yeah, I am 16, but I think it's safe to say that most of the users on Xbox-Scene don't see me as intolerate (at least I hope  laugh.gif ). If you base my 'immaturity' on a spelling error and being incorrect on Bungie's development team structure (which I admit to being wrong about, by the way), then enjoy yourself. If you think that I'm 'immature', then at least don't drag that down to members of xs who are clearly contributable to the community. Kage is no where near the 'immaturity' you potentially see me as, nor should your 'quick judgement' draw you remotely to that conclusion.

sorry man i didnt mean to be harsh, i think it would be funny if i was mistaken  for anyone else  biggrin.gif  there are plenty of people on this forum who are barely old enough to remember the ps2 and xbox launch let alone the saturn and ps1 launches so there is no harm in being younger.  we were all young gamers once learning how the industry works and for this guy to forget this makes him more immature then half the people here IMO.

i didnt respond to him in hopes for a reply, everyone has their own opinion and there will be little to change it.  i only speak up to people who are so blind and ignorant to what good they have in front of their face.  like i said before i dont buy next gen hardware to play last gen games.  yes i still pop them in for a few minutes but after the nestolgia wares off i put in a next gen game and start creaming my pants  tongue.gif

Oh no! You didn't add a space between your 'bravo's, you capitalized 'Best' and your second 'Bravo', and and you spelt 'I've' as ive! You are immature at age 12-16.

Just kidding. beerchug.gif I think it's about time to end this now, we've all gotten our word out.

Back onto topic - to those who are having the problems, are they apparent when online or in split screen (or split screen online)? I just wanna sum the whole deal up for me.

The ghosting of images and slowdown happen while playing in single player.

The slowdown and bad audio happen during online multiplayer but I haven't played it long enough to make the ghosting appear.

The game is also very bright on my TV.

If only the slowdown and ghosting didn't happen the game would be very playable but those two events ruin the game for me.

As I said in my first post, there is currently no game on the Xbox 360 that can compete with Halo 2 for multiplayer system link.  COD2 doesn't support it, and Perfect Dark Zero runs like crap when in split screen.

When you say MutliPlayer, do you mean DM/Team DM? or Coop? or all of it?

I say this because some may think CoD 2 doesnt support system link deathmatch when it does. It doesnt offer coop at all.

what about PD Zero? Is COOP Lan/Live? or just shitty split screen? what about MP DM? is that offered in split screen? I assume thats what you tried and it was crappy? It doesnt matter, I dont like the game so I tossed the idea of trying coop out the preverbial window  laugh.gif

Sorry if I got all of this jumbled, My head hurts. I also apologize for interrupting the flaming. Carry on...

i think he is speaking of split screen multiplayer over LIVE deftech.

and flagg i didnt personally attack you, your just the least bit uneducated and unappreciative to what has been handed to you.  you bitch and moan about promises not being met when i dont see how that can be when you have your BC (which you shouldnt have expected to be perfect because nothing at launch is) and many more features on a game console then has ever been featured.  you spoke about your problems as they are a common fact when there are people, like me, who have had no problem what so ever with halo 2.  i have put in some time both online and off to see the difference in BC and i am impressed, no matter what its viewed on (monitor or TV) the changes are apparent, and i havent come across any ghost images, stuttering, slowdown, or any of the other mentioned problems.  i have come across stuttering during gameplay in one of the many BC games i have tried which is forza, and there have been other games where the gameplay is fine but the rendered cut-scenes will stutter (DoA3) but both halos work just like the original, like i said before maybe its on a console to console basis and for others forza doesnt seem slow and stuttery to them, but it seemed rather immature that you go off about something that wasnt up to your unrealistic expectations.

Hahaha.  This is funny.  Flagg is owning TWO people at ONCE!!! Also, hes 100% right.

Carlo, you said this:

"2. Why would Bungie (MS doesn't make Halo games - you should know this, oh superior ranter) spend time 'fixing' Halo 2? By the way, your definition of 'fixing' is 'adding better graphics and and extra maps'. IF anything, Bungie is doing that and a whole lot more with Halo 3, so why don't you just wait - mr. Hardcore Halo fan. If bungie wasted their time in making Halo 2 look better and have more features (essentially 'fixing' it, right?), you would then be pissed off if Halo 3 is unfinished and doesn't seem as if all of Bungie's time was spent on it. Use your head."

First of all MS owns Bungie. Second, bungie wouldn't fix Halo 2.  MS did all of the emulation on their own.  So stop saying all of this stuff about Halo 3.  Its MS's responsability.

No, really? Read the rest of the thread and you'll find out that I understand it now. 1. I never said MS didn't own bungie, just that they don't make Halo, which is true. 2. I'm pretty sure (don't take my word for it, friend) that Bungie would have to edit parts of the emulation profile to further patch the profile. Like I said, don't take my word on it because it's an educated guess. Flaming is over, so whistle down. You're a little late.  pop.gif

Do you get any problems when in normal split screen (offline 2 players)? Also, what issues do you get when online with 2 players split screen?
