It's not gen if you don't notice it's next gen.

What I'm saying about quality it that people with normal TVs won't see this quality increase by HD. Next gen is more about HD and it that's all there is then there is not much improvement.

To be honest, i have not been impressed with the 360 so far,  like i was when i first played halo 1 on my standard TV.  I also play the 360 in high res.

To be fair, the only 360 game i have played is PDZ, and the two halo xbox games.

Before people attach me, i'm sure future 360 games will look and play a lot better as time passes, and as developers get familiar with the hardware.  Hell, just by default the games would have too be better (the 360's specs are 10x better then the xbox 1).

So, you'd prefer all games made from now on stay in 420p exclusively?

If you think you can't see the significant difference in even the first gen 360 games on a non-HDTV, you've got vision problems.

Or you don't own an Xbox yet.

I don't have an x360 yet but I have put HD videos of games onto a DVD and played it on my standard TV.

What I'm trying to say is - if you don't have a HDTV and you can't see a difference in the things that count, e.g AI, enviroments etc then it isn't really next gen.
If you only get the next gen graphics with a HDTV then it isn't next gen. Devs can't rely on HDTV resolutions and call it next gen, it has to be a leap in gameplay that can be seen and felt on all types of TVs.

Games shouldn't depend on your TV to be great.

seeing as how you didnt see what i posted earlier ill post it again and bold it this time.....

high resolution applies to much more then the screen resolution (texture resolution for example) and without the push for HD there would less of a push to raise the graphical bar. there is far more in advancements then just HD and just by saying that you show how little you really know. next gen IS more then about HD and its a shame that you cant see that there is more then just HD going on with these games. you will still see a huge difference on a regular TV, your still getting the same jump in polys, number of particles, same kind of textures and lighting; it just wont be as sharp as it would be on a HDTV.

how do you not see the difference in AI, environments, and anything else if you dont have a HDTV??  the games still look 10x better then the last gen but would look 20x better if played on a HDTV.  any and all games at launch can be just as enjoyable on regular TV as they are on a HDTV so by your post all games can still be considered next gen as the gameplay leap in the launch games can still be felt on all typs of TVs.

I implore you to please think and research before you post in the future, i wont insult or put you down but there is serious lack of knowledge on your end.

rolleyes.gif Thanks kage but I still disagree. I just don't think we are at the next gen yet, that's all.

When the x360 gets a killer app then it will be next gen. Oblivion, halo 3 or some inotive RPG from bioware.

your entitled to think whatever you want no matter how wrong you are.  since when do you need a killer app to be considered part of the next gen??  and to some people there are already killer app titles at launch (CoD2 anyone?).  so that means that the ps2 wasnt a next gen system for atleast a year from its release?  i know your young and some things arent clear but boy you really need to put some thought behind your words, to most next gen is at a technical level and already the launch games are meating those requirements.  first you complain about next gen being only about HD and HDTVs and now you say that next gen is about a killer app and doesnt start before hand, please step away from whatever your on and take a day away to process some thoughts.  by the way, how or why are you even giving uneducated assumptions about a system you dont even have??!!  uhh.gif

I'm even younger than Ozy and I feel that I make more sense than him. IMO, of course.  tongue.gif
Anyways, PDZ, COD2, and PGR3 have been system sellers for Xbox 360 thus far. No need for a killer app so far. Plus, even if there was a current killer app, it wouldn't be permanent since Halo 3 will take over as being the Xbox 360 system seller/killer app combo. In the future, I know I'll be dedicating much of my time to Halo 3, Ut2007, Gears of War, and so on, with one of them probably gaining the downright most attention from gamers (Halo 3 - inevitable). Many people are saying "I'll get the 360 when Halo 3 launches and get the bundle".
Everyone, the 'killer app' is in the making, along with many system sellers (Gears of War, UT2007 (even if on PS3 too), Huxley, Splinter Cell, and so on). I don't include Oblivion for obvious reasons (poor public reception etc).
