lmao

making a thread and saying no review has scored over 9

I cant stand reviews but the ones ive seen scores of have been 9s and even a 10.

why arent you posting links with better scores? why people put stock into websites reviews I have no idea. Its all subjective.

rent it, try it.

In some ways you have a point this goes back "to each his own" but if a game "sucks" a game "sucks" reviews to me is just another way to review before you buy are review before you rent....There useful Im sure you agree there I don't treat ign are any other review site like a holy grail to games just use it for quick stop to check the details of a game out....I was just hoping a next gen title would at least score in the high 9's 90%-5stars--ect....I hope  condemnded comes through for me....

renting is the best thing... to do, I'm considering signing up for one of the game-by-mail rental services like game fly or gamerang.

Honestly I've played games in the 9s that I thought were total junk and I've played games down in the 6s that I thought were fantastic and couldn't put down...

reviews are just someones opinion.

I find that popular opinion often differs greatly from what I consider makes a good game, I also find that reviews don't bother to take into account the details and finer points of a game but weight it heavily on "replay value", how long it took them to complete and how long they could keep playing if they could. Just because a game is short doesn't mean it's crap.

Personally i only trust Gamespots reviews, they bitch and moan about the tiniest stuff. To me, getting a 7 from them is equivalent to a 9!

Im waiting on their reviews.

what would it mattered if a game scored in the low 9's or the high 9's?  a good score is a good score and in the end its nothing more then just another person's opinion.  the only reason i read reviews are for the technical details of a finished product because half of the time that is fact.  only the dreamcast has garnered such a big line up of quality titles and not all of them scored 9's but that is still considered THE best launch in console history.  the way i see it, is that its still better then the gamecube, xbox, and ps2 (what a joke) launches and with every generation launch it makes it that much harder to top the previous ones which should say something for the 360 line-up.

to add i got this list of all the reviews so far...

Amped 3
1UP - 7/10

Call of Duty 2
Total Games - 94/100
Official Xbox Magazine - 9/10
1UP - 9/10
TeamXbox - 9/10
Gamespot - 8.8/10

Condemned
Official Xbox Magazine - 8.5/10

FIFA 2006
1UP - 7/10

Gun
GamePro - 4.5/5
IGN - 7.9/10

Kameo
1UP - 7/10
Gamespot - 8.7/10
IGN - 8.4/10
Gamespy - 4/5
Kotaku - 4/5

King Kong
Official Xbox Magazine - 9/10

Madden 2006
IGN - 8/10

NBA 2K6
1UP - 7/10
IGN - 7.8/10
Gamespot- 8.3/10

NBA Live 2006
Official Xbox Magazine - 7/10

Need For Speed: Most Wanted
Total Games - 78/100

NHL 2K6
IGN - 7.1/10

Project Gotham Racing 3
1UP - 10/10
IGN - 8.8/10
Kotaku - 4.5/5

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Gamepro - 4.5/5
IGN 8.3/10

that is a damn good average for a launch and its launch titles IMO! beerchug.gif

IMO the best reviews will come after launch when we all have the games.

Then everyone can comment if the 360 met your expectations and what games rule.

what has pissed me off when reading the reviews (i hope someone will back me up on this) is that they say the graphics and sound and features are great, but the gameplay is nothing special.   this to me is bull shit.  i think people expected this to revolutionize the way games are played but its not the case.  i mean going from say the ps1 or atari to a xbox is a big diffrence  but now we will not see this radical change again and people are mad (or rather ingnorant to that fact).  i mean the review ign had for pgr3 made me pissed off.   everything was great   except that it felt like pgr2 when playing it    i mean come on.   U hear the same with sports games, they play like there cusins one the xbox.  so what   the whole reason for the 360 is graphics.  i even remeber this coming up in an ign panel with the guy whos making gears of wars.   he was talking about how someone asked him what else the 360 would bring besides graphics, and his respones....well graphics.  it that simple, these reviews aren't looking at the leap in tech and visuals but dueling on the fact that it feels like a standard fps or feels like other racers....basically read the reviews and negate that fact or just make up ur own mind  beerchug.gif

The last big change gameplay wise offered by a platform was from Xbox Live. That changed things.

The next one probably won't come until the Revolution comes out. Nintendo seems to have the same view, they think it's time to change the standard interface, and damn the graphics!

I can easily see myself owning a 360 and a revolution. I ADORE my DS, it's so fresh and different, and I have a feeling the revolution will be even moreso.

Something that people always lose site of (even the reviewers themselves) is something that EDGE always points out (just one of many reasons I only trust their reviews) and that is this:

1 = shit

5 = Average (that's right 'average' not fucking shit as you may think)

6 = A bit above average

7 = A good game worth playing

8 = Very good, you should probably buy this

9 = This games is fucking unbelievable you have to fucking own this game!!!!!

10 = The holy grail. Awe inspiring, ground breaking and industry changing.

Oh and in EDGE just wanted to point out that they only gave american wasteland 4 out of 10. Shows how strict they are. Hey it;s not exactly original is it?
