PC pics but it gives you an idea of what we will be seeing when it hits the 360. Seems to be using Source as well.

tongue.gif ).
Artstyle looks great, but art-team doesn't seem to be doing a great job with the textures etc.
I saw a few minutes of footage, and the gameplay looks great, but graphics (mainly terrain, weapons, and characters) look dry, bland, and really not nexgennish (nothing special about thet extures, Halo 2's textures have more depth) but the effects of things like ice and fire look better in relation.

This might all change in the final version, so I just hope that they pop in some polygons, better textures, and some parralax mapping to assist the textures.

Then again, Gabe is present...

Valve isnt making it are they? Gabe should have nothing to do with it if thats the case. Ubi says its an enhanced version of the Source engine.

And since when don't you want Oblivion?! thats all you talked about for months! Im going insaaaaaaaaane!

Speaking of Gabe, his favorite holiday is coming up! Turkey Day is almost here!

Oblivion will be great, I jsut have a short fuse for rpgs. I love rpg elements in games, such as leveling up abilities and weapons and also gaining new abilities, characters, and so on but playing Rpg-rpg's is too much for me to handle; sadly.
It's just the fact that if you mess one thing up, your character won't suceed inmany areas, and (for example) you might not be able to kill magic enemies that show up a lot later on because your axe mastery, which you spent all your time leveling up, cannot defeat them (due to lack of enchantments or what not).

That's jsut one example, but those aspects take the fun of 'playing the game' away from me and just make it a stress-fest.
Lets say I master in swords instead of axes the next time around, so I can suceed later on in the game against magic enemies - I might not be able to kill the physical enemies that show up even later on since none of the swords are strong enough and are more tailored towards enchanting. < Just a VERY SMALL example of what I mean.

Many people enjoy that kind of stuff, and I had my time with it too, but I've chosen that I'd rather spend my gaming time having fun the way I like it and by having more memorable, and also more meaningful (in a way) experiences. Bascially, I have more fun playing simple games which tailor towards pure gameplay and where playing the game more = more skill instead of rpgs where playing the game more = more knowledge of all this rpg stuff about characters and weapons weaknesses and certain spells within a skill class. If I am gonna spend 200+ hours on a game, I don't wanna stuff my mind with any more meaningless rpg science, which many people end up showing off in the 'represented' hardcore rpg-community. If I were to become a hardcore player of a type of game, I'd rather it not be rpg. Playing rpgs for very long result in you knowing more about the game than you do other things in real life (or at least knowing as much about them as you do real life things, which still isn't favorable).

I can go on and on, but it's a personal decision, and in a way a self-disciplinary one. I know I can spend hours upon end with Oblivion, but the fun factor won't be as great as it would be if I spent that time playing shooters/action/adventure games single player, co-op, splitscreen, or online.
I have nothing against single player games, and I love them if I can spend time with them, but just so long as they don't fill my mind with this meaningless rpg hodgepodge. If I will spend time playing a single player game, it better be because it's fun and relies on enjoyable moments and great storytelling instead of badgering me with having too heavy armor in relation to my strength attribute (in which case I would not be able to run or dodge from enemy attacks, leaving me vulnerable to dying slowly. Or having the heavy armor and lack of strength burn my fatigue too much as I attack or get hit, leaving me in the same horrible situation).

I could go on and on. I have no hate for rpgs and what they are, but they just aren't my type of game. I don't play simulation racing games or strategy games (starcraft, age of empires, etc) as well, and for different reasons.

Long posts are awesome, by the way.

I might have missedsome key points or whatnot, but it's time to eat and I am one hungry hippo.
