360 Backwards Compatibility News Due-- Posted by XanTium on November 10 23:57 EST
From next-gen.biz:

After the Halo 360 'upgrades' yesterday, Next Generation went looking for more information on other Xbox1 titles. What we found out was less than conclusive but Microsoft will be making announcements about it in the next 24 hours (Friday, November 11).

A few of these developers and publishers had thrown source code over the wall to Microsoft under the auspices of having backward compatibility profiles and/or optimizations done for them. Unfortunately, most of these sources complained that once they had done delivered the code to Microsoft, they'd had very few updates (and in one case, no updates) on the status of their games.
Anti-aliasing seems to be the "flick a swich" improvement being given to many titles. Given that ATI's architecture emphasizes low cost anti-aliasing, this shouldn't be terribly surprising.

Damn good news for everyone!

Gamers can play their old games (mmmm.. Hitomi from DOA3 in 720p until DOA4's release... love.gif )
Devs can probably boost sales of older games for us HD nerds.
Gamestores will sell more used games in the dry spells.

beerchug.gif all around!  Now about those Burnout profiles...

I hope ms will allow splinter cell 1 mechassault 1 and 007 auf cause i dont supose that the hacks in the saves will do anything to the 360 but if it does yay. Hope we can softmod it soon.

the game actually sold extremely well.  when it came out i looked for a couple months with no luck.  i called and emailed capcom directly and they finally got back to me stating how they were surprised at the rate the game was selling out and they were having trouble keeping up with demand.  the guy at the game shop by me was selling his for $800 over ebay and that was months after the game was out.  it didnt sell in the millions (hell i dont even know if it broke a million) but i think that had to do with the controller and not the game.

i do agree though, i wouldnt have my hopes up that this game is BC mainly because you need the big controller and no controllers are supported from xbox1 to the 360.

back on the topic, great news about the games!

hopefully they give a good list of games.

I second that, SB is amazing. IF they dont I probably will wind up building a cabinet just for the game like the old afterburner cockpit arcades. That would really make the game an amazing experience.

Hope they make an adapter for it cause it would suck to spend all that money and not be able to use it on the new system.

lol.........SB didnt sell well.........lol........yea, and they made a sequel just for the hell of it. blink.gif

Anyways, BC for that game depends on capcom really. Im sure MS would be glad to work with them if they have an interest in making it completely BC (make a controller solution).

No-one's brought up Forza yet. How cool would it be to have the best driving simulation in the history of consoles upped to 720p+FSAA? I'm looking forward to MS to announce some nice support for it as well.

Because, I like it as a *game* even more than I do of PGR.
