The first game I played was Kameo. WOW, I mean WOW, this game is EVERYTHING that you have been told it is. It was the most beautiful game I had ever seen in my life. After wooping some trolls and solving a few puzzles with the different elements of Kameo I stopped. I was wasting time and I was getting my ass kicked. I did not make it outside the castle.

I'm sure I'll be sold on one sure-shot title when I get my hands on a Xbox 360 demo at Walmart (when my walmart gets the kiosks in, that is).
PD0 looks great, but I'm gonna be getting Halo (2) at launch (heh), so I don't think getting another shooter simultaneously is a great idea (I might pick up PD0 later on after launch).
Kameo looks great.
Oblivion looks great too, but I'm not sure if I want to commit myself to an rpg of that scale at the time when I get my 360.
I might get Xbox Live as well with my EBgames credit (currently 150$cdn credit) which I got from selling my 9 ps2 games, network adapter, and controller with a 40%+ scratch card bonus.
I will most likely get Live around when Ghost Recon AW comes out or when I might get PD0 or another game which I am interested in. If Kameo co-op is really that good, then I'll get my 12-month subscription then.
I also gotta pick up the vga cables..

When I woke up this morning I did not expect to see $879 in my paypal account, yet I did. I did not expect to play the 360, yet I did. Today has been a grand day! Selling my 360 on ebay for $850 and then playing one later.

So you and wasting say No jaggies, and others say no AA was being used.

that tells me some arent set to 720p. they should have been locked or shipping kiosks with a HD Samsung was a waste.

Thanks for replying. Knowing that they dont exist if the 360 is properly set to HD, will make me sleep better tonight.

Yea, it sounds like many have it set up to 480i. The one I was at was definitely in high-def. They set it up perfect!

So when we take it home, since none of us have any "training" on setting up our 360s, do we expect the same situation in our living rooms as the wal-mart debacle???

Seriously, some of you guys here should go check out the topic i started on the gamers chat forum. Some interesting points are being made down there, some which im sure some of you might not wanna hear.

Ok, some of you keep reiterating that some kiosks out there arent properly configured, with some accusing me of playing on one of those. While i doubt that to be the case, and it has caused quite a commotion in that other forum, I'm still sticking with the fact that i was playing on 720p, and i had it verified by one of the employees. But to really settle the matter, i will be heading back there pertty soon, and see if i can fiddle with the settings myself.

Now, one interesting fact that others here seem to not be aware of, and are even using as a defense for the noticeable jaggies ive seen, is the claim that those misconfigured kiosks were running at a lower resolution possibly at 480 interlaced or maybe 480 progressive. Now if this was the case, and it was running in interlaced (standard res) mode then those jaggies shouldnt be there at all!! As ive explained over at the other forum, ill try to explain here if you guys havent gone there. Interlaced vs. Progressive (HD) is like night and day. A progressive scan image will give you a crisper, clearer image quality over interlaced. More detail can be seen, and unfortunately also, more artifacts and flaws such as asliasing will be more pronounced too. I play my xbox on a vga monitor using the best vga box on the market and i've seen first hand how true this is. Games like ninja gaiden truly look spectacular, but i also noticed artifacts/aliasing that i missed when playing it on regular tv.

Now taking this into account, if the kiosk i played was running at interlaced, then those jaggies would have been blurred or smoothened out because of the lower resolutions! But what i saw was there, and interlaced or not, they really stuck out. And a progressive scan image would have made it more obvious. A progressive scan image will not magically make aliasing disappear as some of you here seem to believe. It actually makes it stand out even more.
Which brings me to the impression that no AA was ever implemented at all on these demos. Which makes you wonder why, and at this close to launch. And i dont think its jus for the fact that these could just be early builds or what, cuz if this was the case, then M$ is really stupid to let the public play this, because it can really turn people off regardless if your hardcore or not. Many gamers unfortunately are gonna judge off of these. First impressions really do last.

If AA was such an easy feature on the 360 as M$ has been bragging ever since,,for us to still be seeing aliasing, this horrible at all, on public demo kiosks to boot is just inexcusable. Something tells me it isnt as rosy as it is, and there are serious bottlenecks that developers havent talked about regarding the hardware.
Well all I could all be wrong, and its all open for serious discussion, besides I'm going back to to Wal mart pretty soon to settle this "misconfiguration" issue once and for all.

geo, something's gotta give.
The X05 video feeds we have all seen have no jaggies.

Others who have played the kiosks are reporting no jaggies as well, while there's those like you (quite a few as well) that are reporting jaggies.

So for the time being, we'll just assume that there's a problem with these kiosks.
However you don't have to, I just paid off my Xbox 360 pre order yesterday so I'll let the skeptics know how the final hardware and software turns out.
Of coarse this is if the problem isn't solved by launch time....

Is it possible some don't know what Jaggies are?
