as much as the revolution's controller has gained interest and hype among the japanese, i still dont see the revolution beating the ps3. think about it, for over 10 years nintendo has stomped any other hand held that has come to the market. the japanese have a long standing loyalty to things. they know that nintendo delivers when it comes to handhelds. it wouldnt matter if the next handheld system didnt have double screens, if they had the games and the support that the DS has then it would sell the same because its from nintendo and people expect it to be a huge success.
the gamecube did horrible for a japanese system in japan, especailly compared to the ps2. just like nintendo with the handheld market im sure the japanese will be loyal to sony and the ps3 because they believe that they have succeeded before and thats where the support and games will be (well games that they want).
as for the 360 its going to be fun to see how well or bad it does over there. if they dont succeed over there in the least bit, we all know its not because of MS's lack of trying.
