Me.
Not all games areWOWOWOWOWOWO! But games like Ghost Recon 3 and oblivion and gears of war look amazing if you KNOW HOW TO INTERPRET DATA (which many people have difficulty doing).

muhaha.gif ONLY I HAVE THE POWER TO MANIPULATE THE MINDLESS PUPPETS!!!! muhaha.gif

no but seriously, im kinda in the middle personally.  im pleased with some of the titles, that are built a-new but not others.  i think tiltles that have dicided to really take advantage of the hard ware (like world airforce, and some other games that just blow u away, oh also pgr3).  but what disapoints me is that others are just higher rez versions of games on the xbox (like maden and shazzle, think pc..u can run at 640*480 or u can run at 1920*1200).  and some games look good but are basically just cach-ups with pc tech (quake 4, don't get me wrong, i want it so bad, but it basically is just a slighlty better v. of the doom 3 engine which was on pc and xbox, at low rez). so long story short is that im pleased now, and if m$ delivers on what they said (and i get that warm and fuzzy feeling in the front of my pants when i hold the controler and turn on the console for the first time) then i will be please.  im just a little um um um, not displeassed, but un-sure about some of the launch titles delivering on looks.

Thouroughly looking forward to it! Can't wait!

I actually can't believe that I'm looking forward to a MS release. When the Xbox came out I decided to get one because my friend was coming back from the US and it was cheap around the 1st week after release. I thought that I would probably play Halo a bit then it would sit in the corner. After playing Halo for 7hours straight (i had actually intended on looking at the graphics and then watching a movie with my Girlfriend) I knew that the PS2 could be banished to the nether regions of the closet only to make an appearance with the release of Katamari Damacy in Japan and various GTA releases. My poor GC sits on the coffe table begging to be played and allas 'I'm sorry Mr GC but you don't have enough games to warrant me getting off my fat ass and finding your HDTV cable' BWAAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAA HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Man I am way too tired......

Personification of inanimate objects is generally funny. For example 'good morning Mr Toilet Brush is that your friend, Mrs Bath Matt?'

Like I said 'I'm way too tired'

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I probably will be because I'm shooting from a bad memory) but the DOA series brought multi-tier arenas, 4 player tag-team and extremely fast gameplay to the fighting genre.  The countering system is unique as well.   Beyond that... pretty graphics?  I still argue that DOA3 is one of the prettiest games on Xbox and it was a launch title.  As far as what DOA4 is bringing to the table?  "More, Better, Faster" I guess.  Isn't that how it always works?

lol, i meant a long read for everyone else and i'm too lazy to type all the stuff up.

to put it simply, DOA has brought a couple of things to fighting games

1. Multi-tiered Stages - this alone automatically makes it play differently to other fighting games because it can potentially become opportunities for high levels of damage.

2. Interactive Levels - in every other fighting game, the surroundings usually dont mean anything save for the walls. in DOA, the ground for example is never flat which means you will move at different speeds and your combos are different. and the fact that characters can move around the stage like the Kasumi thing mentioned earlier adds something new as well. not to mention that DOA is the only fighting game to have a good wall system.

3. Counters - in most fighting games, counters are there, but are never particularly rewarding or in fact are not even worth using. in DOA of course, its the total opposite. Counters are such an intergeal part of the game that at high levels people constantly create strategies around counters. the fact that every character has available counters just makes it even more important.

4. The Throw System - DOA is the only game were you cant break most of the good throws. this might seem like something small, but considering how powerful certain throws can be... well, i cant say much about this without showing you during gameplay.

there are certain other 'subtle' things like how stuns work and how the combo system work that make a massive impact at high levels but arent worth mentioning at casual play. a lot of the things dont really matter unless you play a lot of fighting games at high levels.

online play was a pretty massive innovation seeing as DOAU was really the only fighting game that worked well on Live.
