Wow def, you gained 20 posts in 3 minutes.  tongue.gif

Can't the admins take off the in-thread post count marker? I hate when people judge us because of it.

That is so awsome.  You think we'll get a top-down shooter???

By the way, Border Down on DC was an excellent ass game.  Didn't they do Ikaruga also?

Radient Silvergun (Saturnl still sells for $110 used in Akiba) and Ikaruga (both for Dreamcast and arcade) were Treasure titles.

Border Down was okay as a scrolling shmup, but, and mark my words, if ANYONE in the Accounting Division of G.Rev (or any other dev) has half a brain, we'll never see another top-down (or S-S) console shooter again.

IGN just put up an article about Treasure.
They interviewed Treasure's president Masato Maegawa.

Here's the most they were able to get out of him about their upcoming Xbox 360 game:

QUOTE
IGN: It's been announced that you're making Xbox 360 games, and we've heard some buzz that your first game for the platform will be 2D. Can you tell us what you can do with 2D games on a powerful system like Xbox 360?

Maegawa: Your information is incorrect.

IGN: Ahh... well, in general, if you were to make a 2D game on the Xbox 360, what could you possibly do with all that power?

Maegawa: For making a completely 2D game, the Game Boy Advance and DS are fine. For next generation systems, including Xbox 360 and others, we'd do 2D with polygons -- that is, the visuals are 3D, but the game play is 2D.

My first wish is that the game is a side scroller shooter like Contra or Gunstar Heroes. My second would be another shooter like Ikaruga.
Whatever the game turns out to be, I'm going to be all over it!

Read the complete interview here:
http://ds.ign.com/ar...0/650604p1.html
It focuses on their upcoming Gunstar Super Heroes for the GBA....

On the Xbox 360 side, developer Hamster will be making The Convenience Store X, a new entry in a series that's kinda like Sim City except you run a convenience store chain. Next up is Spike's Way of the Samurai Online, planned for a 2006 release. Hudson has announced Bomberman: Act Zero in the smmer of 2006, while the unusual versus shooter Senkou no Ronde also heads to Xbox 360. Finally, developer Success hits a grand slam with a "Sea Action Game" and an untitled mahjong game. Better pre-order that Xbox 360 mahjong import!
