strange how the popularity of one technology or piece of electronics isnt popular in one area, and further along, those same things have been around and popular for years.
I dont know a single friend or relative that doesnt have cox cable or sbc dsl, and havent had dial up since '99 or 2000. Just using that for reference, dont get all pissy
same goes for HDTV's.
Of the 6 people close by, be it friends or relatives, 2 do Not have a HD TV or projector, the rest do. And most of us got them so we could see xbox games in simple, ugly, 480p.
HDTV's have been huge around here for years, I got my first 4.5 years ago, and people around me were also getting them.
make that 7 people, forgot about my cousin, hes got a Pioneer set and a Infocus projector.
obviously this is not common, but from where I sit, being around 480p for years and wanting more and seeing it finally meterialize, is a dream come true. Thats why I explained all of this, so you could see where some of us are coming from.I cant worry about what others think of MS and their tactics, I worry about what my eyes will see on the massive screen, and my eyes will forever thank MS and people like Cliffy B who are about to give me games that are sex for the eyes

oh and repeating myself...IF at some point between now and launch, MS says 720p wont be supported by all games, and we as consumers wouldnt be able to "turn it on" at our leisure, my checking account will not be losing any $$ come November, atleast not on consoles. I'll spend a lot of $$ and get back into pc gaming where I can get high res gaming.
