But wat about going the other way... what game could possibly benefit from being developed exclusively for a less powerful console?

None, well.......................except if the game is supposed to have that look maybe. Like how the PS2 has that perfect Final Fantasy look IMO. Other than that, no game would benifit from the weaker hardware............even my Final Fantasy example has flaws. If on a more powerful system the load times would be less. There would be less jaggies. Sound would be better.............................you know what, no game would benifit on the less powerful system.

def makes a good point, and the most important part...

for a game that relies on shadows, and you have versions that dont support that, and its all pea soup green instead, is just rediculous  uhh.gif

Interesting conversation, good points. I have a point though. Even if a system is weaker than another overall, because the system is different it has its own strengths that gets ignored during cross platform development. We've heard about how each nex gen system has its own strengths but they are overall equal in terms of power, when making cross platform games you wont see companies taking advantage of these "strengths" and kills the experience for the gamer. Exclusive games are always gonna be more impressive no matter how strong or weak the system is. Cross platform games will always be watered down, no matter if its "gem" or not, the point is it couldve been better.
