those demos weren't running on a PS3...
they were running on THIS:

So really it will be making the conversion from full on oven to a portable grill
honestly holla45 I completely didn't understand the point of your posts, not to mention I was quite offended your blanket statements grouping us all as "
you xbox fans". I consider myself an Xbox fan, as SHOULD everyone on this site. If you're on this site and NOT an Xbox fan... well then I should recommend you leave because you obviously wont find like minded individuals here.
As for my PERSONAL opioin... Let's put it this way. the PS3 will be powerful, whether it is more or less powerful than the 360 has yet to be seen, considering NEITHER consoles is complete. In the past Sony products have made me loose a considerable amount of faith in the performance of their video game products. I had several PS1s and PS2s break on me... Infact Sony consoles are the only consoles I have ever owned that have ever broken. Think about that for a second... I have a literal museum of consoles at my disposal... and the only 2 out of the many many many brands and models of consoles that I own that have broken are also the only two made by Sony.
I'm not saying this is true for all people's experiences, but that's where my personal judgment comes from, and from what I've gathered it's pretty similar to the experience of others.
Another thing is Sony's past record on what they promise and what they deliver. In the past with the PS1 and PS2 at E3 the made promises that never came to life in the console they delivered.
Lets give and example shall we? At the E3 before the PS2 launch they showed a "built to spec clip" of Final Fantasy VIII... I'm sure someone could find a link but the clip honestly looks better than all but one or two of the latest PS2 games. Not only that but Sony promised that "within 6 months of the Japanese launch" they were going to offer a hard drive and ethernet port and launch their online gaming service, that would allow you to download new content as well as browse the web and share photos etc...
I assume you have a PS2 so let me ask you... did they deliver the online gaming service anywhere near the time they promised? Can you do any of things (like download content and share pictures, etc.) with the even the LATEST PS2 model? the answer is quite simply NO.
This is fine, I don't really care that the PS2 doesn't have those features, I have my PS2 and the games I like and that's why I bought it. The point is they didn't deliver what they promised. Whether they lied or they couldn't meet their own expectations doesn't matter, the fact is they said one thing and did another. MS on the other hand has delivered TO THE LETTER everything they have promised. The games all looked close to what they'd promised, they delivered all the accessories and services when they promised and with the features that they promised... and then some.
Here's a little example for you...
lets say there's a river and a bridge over the river... the bridge builder... lets call him Kataragi says "take my PS1 bridge, it is very safe". so you take the bridge and it's got some holes in it, and definitely not safe, but it does get you across the river so that's fine.
A few years later you come to the same river and there is Mr Kataragi again... he says "take my new PS2 bridge, it's much better than the PS1 bridge and much safer" So you take the bridge and again there are holes and it's not very safe, it still gets you across the river but it took longer than Mr Kataragi said it would, but again it wasn't safe either.
Soon after you arrive at the river again and there is a second bridge, the bridge builder, lets call him Allard, says "take my Xbox bridge, it's very safe". So you take the bridge, and WOW he was honest... his bridge was very safe indeed! and you got across in good time like he promised you would.
Now you're coming up to the river again... you have Mr Kataragi and Mr Allard both saying "take my new bridge, it's much better than the old one"
Sure there is a chance that the PS3 bridge is actually safer than the Xbox360 bridge this time.... but what has history taught you?
If Sony was a personal friend of yours and they couldn't keep their most important promises, betraying your trust how good would your friendship be?
