personally?

take the Ai and shove it.

I want HD resolutions and NO jaggies. Thats next gen, in my opinion.

This whole "Ai wont be as good as the current gen"  is making me sick. It'll be phenomenal, and if people think that all games will sacrifice Ai for better graphics they are wrong. Once time passes and devs get a grasp of what they have infront of them, youll be sorry you asked for it.

Ai is fine where its at for me, I just want huge worlds to explore, lush vegetation, huge monsters chasing me so I shat myself repeatedly, sexy cars racing around city streets with landscapes that look real. That monster chasing me could be as dumb as a brick, Im easy to please.

The Ai in games like Chaos Theory and Halos are more than enough for me.

I dont even pay attention to it really. I'll be way to fuggin busy looking at the graphics in games anyways, ask people Like Kage360 who is local and attends our lan parties.

I get killed in shooters or passed in games like PGR 2 because im too fuggin busy appreciating graphics, and they all look like puke compared to what we will have in 5 months  beerchug.gif I sucked at Rallisport 2 and would end up going off mountains because Id get distracted by the beauty on the 77" screen, and that was in shitty ass 480p!!

 muhaha.gif

Splinter cells are the best games I have ever played, and its all due to lighting and graphics, chaos blew me away. I would spend a good 15 minutes zoomed in with the sniper rifle just staring at lights and shit. Blast the fuggers and look some more  beerchug.gif

Im not your ordinary gamer though, so Im the wrong person to ask.

I'm a Lan freak, so a lot of time is spent playing against the fucks that come over  biggrin.gif

Ok flame away!!

when the average consumer wants to purchase a game without being educated on it they will go for the best graphics they see and not the best ai that they wont get to experience unless they purchase or rent the game.

I think that the AI and Net-Gen graphics are a given, hand in hand, for the X360. One without the other would not make sense in the Next-Gen market, that's what alot of dev's are striving to do. So if you want Smart AI you can expect the graphics to go along with it.

I'll take graphics over AI. Very sledom am I playing a game and thinking to myself "wow this AI is awesome"  but I do enjoy the graphics. Right now AI is great, in games that it's really hard I'm to busy trying to win to think about smart moves the AI makes. It will get better with the coming generation and that improvement is enough for me, no need to take extra time and make it even better.

Good AI in my opinion is a highly underrated thing.

Anybody here played Forza far enough to where the AI starts to basically take you roughly from behind (and I mean that literally, not as a racing reference)?  Reminds me of, umm, Mario Cart 64’s cheapness mixed with the Grand Tursimo 2 “follow the race line like a robot-god” monotony.

It could have been a GREAT game if it had AI decent enough to allow them to be competitive without slamming you into a wall at 180mph as the only way they can beat you.

And how about at least decent AI compared to really stupid AI.  Raise your hand if you think Halo would have been as good a game if it had enemy AI like the Timesplitter or Medal of Honor series…

Anybody with their hands raised is either a liar, or a fool.  At least the Covenant would run from a thrown grenade and not stand next to it ignorant.

Yeah, I want pretty graphics, but I require good AI.  Is Forza beautiful? Yes. Is it fun? No.

And if you haven’t read it yet, do so: A Gamer’s Manifesto

I really want forza I need to go pick it up.  I love racing games unfourtanetly I've always hated how they deal with some issues. For one no matter how far ahead you get they can always go fast enough to automaticly catch up which I hate, and as xombe said I finaly beat all 112 races on NFS:U and I would spin out or be near the finsish and they would ram me out of control and I would lose, it got me so frusterated it make the game not enjoyable at times. I guess I don't notice good and bad AI because I normaly play multiplayer games and on FPS's I rarely play single player. Halo 2's AI was fairly decent, and with improvements on that with this coming gen I think I will be happy with it. If not I can always blame it on M_hael jester.gif

Halo 2 AI was decent.. but I still own their asses!!!

What about Brothers in Arms? I thought that game was amazing.. shit I couldn't surivive by just running and being a machine just shooting them down... no you had to take cover while your squad supressed them and you go around.. trying to not get hit...

Ai is just one of those things people take for granted... You don't mis it until it's not there.

When it's good you don't think about it, when it's bad you're constantly thinking "MAN this sucks" If it's holy **** amazing then you might say "hmm that was interesting" but it's not something that typically stands out.

Physics is the same way...

i only play multiplayer games.... smile.gif

halo2? havent even played single player smile.gif
halo1: same thing

etc etc...

with out it your pretty much looking at nice graphics and doing nothing more, AI make a  game what it is not the  graphics...ive played games that looked great and played liek shit and i didnt keep playing just cause it looked pretty...
its like dating a hot dumb blonde they are only good to look at and you can only play with them alittle bit before your bored and need to move on to the next
