Unreal Tournament Source Code Released!
« on: January 26, 2004, 02:36:00 PM »

The source code for Unreal Tournament (which I much prefer to Unreal Championship) has been released! See:

http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=308

for details. Hopefully UT will follow in the footsteps of Quake, Quake 2 and Doom, and be converted to the XBox. Any takers?

If only I could code... <

Wow thats a big suprise, didnt think they would release the entire code just yet.

I am not sure how well it run on xbox though. I think its a graphic intensive game (havnet played it so i could be wrong)  <

I think they might have - look at page:

http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=1276

Is that the Unreal source code? I think it might well be, but there isn't too much detail given in the on screen description.

Look at the release date, it is not the full source.

Unreal 1 was an awsome game, though the Return To Na Pali expansion pack blew it away! If Unreal 1 was too slow paced for you, then try the expansion pack.

Personally I LOVE both and I can not deny that the game TOTALLY revolutionized the way FPS look and play today, a highly underated title.

Now apparently it is possible to play Unreal and Na Pali under UT, read this converation here and check out the links:

As for Dues Ex 2. I've never played part 1, but will be doing so VERy soon. I can say that part 2 (which I just completed last night) was VERY entertaining, it is like a cross between Knights Of The Old Repblic and Half-Life if you can imagine that. Also with this engine you get a small idea of how DOOM3 will be handling light, and how Half-Life 2 will let you interact with objects.

If you like hard core Cyber Punk fiction, and are a RPG/FPS fan then I would highly suggest this one. it may be VERY VERY confusing for a long while, but it is supposed to be, as the game goes on, the plot becomes more clear. HIT YOUR RENTAL STORE AND RIP IT!! Infact this one is worth paying for to be fully honest! :)  <

I think Dues Ex 1 was better then 2 but 2 was still pretty damn good kinda short though. I would love to see a port of any of the unreal games i think they all kicked ass.  <

What is the plot on Dues X 1, does it connect with part 2 at all? Don't you play as JC Denton or something?
2 was rather short...

Thats  gotta be too small to be soruce but has anyone examined it ?

Aside for the normal BLAH BLAH cant be run its 3d blah blah, well UT1 RUNS WITHOUT A 3D VIDEO CARD! (Says so on the back of my box which i have right here holding in my hand examining the specs)

Also take note of this

When i did used to play ut1 on this pc

1GHZ P3
256MB ram SD
32 meg nvidia geforce 2mx

(i still use this pc, on it right now, only a few weeks before i build my amd 3500+ systemWOOT)

Anyway heres the specs for ut1 off the back of my cd case

200mhz CPU
Memory 32meg, 64 meg recommended
HD space 400 megs (Would this matter?)
CDROM - im sure this doesnt matter

If AVP can be ported why not this? I was pondering over it just now and i was thinking to get the linux version and run under XDSL using qEMU although, i cant find a linux version anywhere and i dont pirate software ethier, so this under xbox would be my dream come true.

Oh btw the game runs under directX7 so im sure it could be ported to xbox

Deux ex would be nice too but id prefer to have ut

Thanks
