X360USB is the team's most advanced modding product. After two weeks of beta testing, the team says X360USB flashed every single model of Hitachi drive "many many many times" via USB using all the current released software such as GaryOPA, Birdy, etc. Countless data transfer tests also resulted in 100% success. Samples will be shipped next week and more product details, as well as its price, will be provided later.

Does this mean i dont have to open my 360 to flash my drive?

hey numnutz, lol, sorry, just had to call you that, even I know that the dvd drive does not have a usb in the back of it..... it DOES appear that you don't need to open your system if this is a TRUTHFUL method of xbox360 hacking, the usb port is in the back of the console.....

please someone confirm... thanks.

I was under the impression that the Hitachi drives were designed to have their firmware flashed via usb. and this exploits that "feature". I may be wrong because I haven't been following the 360 scene that closely.

This is used to flash your drive via the USB port of your pc. It's only if you don't have or want to use your sata port. Ofcourse you have to open the damn console.

Hi,

Would this product do the same thing attached to a connectivity kit?

Any usb2Sata adapter can do EXACTLY the same thing.
So if u have an hitachi just connect it through this usb2sata adapter to your pc after getting the drive in modeb with the two wire cross trick and you can use both garyOpa or birdy package.
If u have a Samsung you are just out of luck with any usb2sata adapter and with X360usb too.

Why u need a connec. kit? You can attach the drive to your pc with this adapter and feeding the drive with the 360 power cable. Remember that u are strongly advised to connect the 360 case to the pc case with a thin cable.

Regards

With this usb2sata kit we can flash al the drives of xbox360 exept the hitachi f79 that need passkey modchip. Did anyone try to flash the new benq drives with this usb2sata adaptor? If yes what is the result?
A lot of thangs.
