Diy Programmer For Matrix Glitcher V2?

I see the new firmware for the Mgv2 has been released to support the Corona.

Has anyone managed to use a DIY programmer to program the firmware?

I don't have the official Matrix USB programmer but I have a ton of other SPI/USB programmers lying around which I would like to use? Sound doable?
