I was wondering, is there an app out there that can play a DVD movie on the XBox from the hard drive?

If I use DVD2XBox or anythign else to copy the DVD to the HDD, it's in a format that I have been unable to play with anything.

Can DVDX2 be made to look onto the hdd as it's source? instead of the D: drive?

Wanna be able to copy movies onto the box direct from the disc, instead of having to rip them as a divx for example.

no i dont think this is possible.  you must burn it or convert it into divx or similar format and play it in xbmp or xbmc.  or you  could just play your dvd with dvdx2  <

the people on this forum and the people that have been making stuff for the xbox mod scene are freakin' geniuses...

this should be no problem...just make a new program or convert one like dvdx to look for a certian folder on the hard drive with folders in it and each folder has a different dvd backup....

i also want somethign like this as i have 2 300 gig hdds and would love to be able to back up dvd moveis in the proper format to my hdd...

remember back when if you wanted to back up a game you HAD to ftp back and forth to the pc or make an iso!!!
not it just takes a couple of button clicks and your done...

i know you guys can do this...

would some one at least give it a shot???

You can play the .vob files from HDD using XBMP/C.  <

i want to play the whole dvd like a regular movei...those suck cause you need to plasythe all seperate....each chapter at a time...

I know what you mean.  I just asked about an on-the-fly divx encoder and got shot down by a bunch of dicks.  I was just wondering if it was possible....not demanding anything.  they told me to "SEARCH" but all of the other threads never had an answer.  Even some of the moderators here are dicks...there...I said it.
I have just as much passion about xbox modding as the rest of you.    <

i asked the same question a week ago and got nothing and similar answers...

i just asked if anyone was working on it....
if some one would say yeah we tried anfd gave up because it was impossible i would drop it...but this is such a cool idea...

i would do it but my programing skills suck!!!

I KNOW ITS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THOSE HELLA EXPENSIVE VIDEO SERVERS DO IT WITH A SIMILAR PROGRAM...

and their only expensive because they have terabites of storage..to store 100's of dvds....


maybe someone could get ahold of one of those programs and port it to xbox or just change a software decoder to look for dvd movie files(menus and all) on the hdd...
its possible with pc programs why not the xbox?

This is my first post ever, I beilive you should look into a a peice of software called PxHDD Loader, And i think it copies it just like a game, and when you go to play it it will auto load in DVDX. But i auto installed all this stuff with Slayers, and im Running EVOX 4978, Im not sure if that will make a difference but im pretty sure what you want is possible.
