256 Big Block Jasper Flash Controller Not Detected
« on: June 18, 2011, 01:49:00 AM »

geewee where do I start.. ph34r.gif

dumped the nand few times, worked 5 times, flashed xell using coolshrimps jtag tool, console boots to xell now but I cant flash the FB image from there using a flash drive or cd. I get a random error and the picture is below.
IPB Image

now my computer doesnt see the flash controller anymore. tried multiple times and I did this many times before. I dont know if I screwed up soldering somewhere.

now questions are.

is it possible that coolshrimp's jtag tool software wrote a wrong version of jasper xell? (very unlikely)

I cant write the FB image from xell because the flash controller and/or the "spi" is gone or something?

keyvault messed up somehow?

is it always supposed to load to xell? right now the console boots to xell with eject button and power button.

is my console royally screwed or is there a way to fix it?

thanks a million in advance.

Have you tried to write your nand through an external programmer?

by external programmer you mean the usb flasher? thats what I have been using. I dont have any other way to test it(lpt cable or whatever)

unless external programmer is something else you are referring too?

So you are writing the enter nand using the USB programmer or are you using xell to flash it?

Also in jtag tool go into the options and make sure you have it set properly for your jtag wiring.

The first couple things that come to mind are, bad SPI port means NAND removal and flashing in a external programmer without a doubt. The original problem could mean any number of things. Faulty CPU or SB BGA connections. Maybe SMC variance? Did you try flashing the donor freeboots? Did you try injecting a type 1 KV, banned even? What about old XBR donor image? I have seen issues where bad blocks played a part in something similar to this. If you run out of options I will take a look at it. *Likes the challenge*  biggrin.gif

Oops wrong thread! I posted in the WTB one too.

I've half-killed my Xenon 360 when i used Coolshrimps Jtag Tool,I'd already Jtagged my console with XBReboot but had decieded to switch over to FreeBOOT,i'd already done a NAND test read to make sure my flash controller was working (homemade LPT cable) and everything was working perfect,so instead of going straight fromXBR to FreeBOOT,i re-flashed my original nand image back on using NandPro20b then i used Coolshrimps Jtag Tool to install Xellous, then i had created my FreeBOOT image and put it on my pen drive along with Flash360 but when i powered up my console, all i got was a black screen with a blinking green centre light, then after about 20-30 seconds i get 3x red lights with a secondary error code 0022 ( defo down to a bad flash and NOT the GPU overheating ) so i attempted to reflash my original nand image back on again and guess what.NandPro can not detect flash controller error,i've tried shorting the nand into recovery mode dozens of times, rechecked ALL my wiring and tested ALL my Jtag wiring points with a multimeter set to ohms,i get excellent steady readouts (between 40-50 ohms)on ALL the wiring points,so i know my SPI isn't faulty or fried.
I totally blame Coolshrimps Jtag Tool for screwing up my board,it's the biggest load of B*****s ever,i should have stuck to using Bestpigs software instead. So thank you so much Coolshrimp, you feckin A**** wipe

well LAST jtag I did, I tried flashing the xell file using nandpro but I kept getting red rings. then I tried xell from coolshrimps software and it worked. figured it would work again with another jasper too.

this situation is little confusing. I really dont know who or what to blame anymore........ ph34r.gif
