Falcon With Xbr3 From Donor Nand
« on: December 18, 2010, 10:00:00 AM »

Hey guys,

Hope everyone's having a good holiday. I have a JTAG'd Xenon console that had a bad NAND dump. I had to flash over a donor NAND to get this thing to boot up and the conole works fine with XBR3 8955 using the Donor NAND.

However, I can't play new games as a result because I'm using an old kernel, furthermore as I'm using a Donor NAND and don't have the correct fuseset I can't upgrade to Freeboot.

Is anyone aware of a workaround for this situation?

Many Thanks!

I don't know a lot about the advanced NAND donor stuff but I think you can still get the console working.  If your KV is corrupted, you will need a donor KV and the CPU key that originally went with that KV.  Let's call this a "donor cpu key" as opposed to the hardware key burned in the fuses.

You can build a new nand with donor files using the donor KV and use the donor CPU key when building freeboot.  AFAIK you don't use the hardware cpu key for anything anymore.

l_oliveira and cory1492 have posted a lot of explanations and help in this thread

and the discussion gets more detailed around here

See if that gets you going.

I looked it over and quickly got a headache and now this jasper sits in a cardboard box.
So look that over and see if it is any help, maybe if you can get it to work you will be able to help me or at least inspire me to spend some more time on it.

Good Luck
