Could Not Detect Flash Controller Nandpro ( Not Your Typical One )
« on: September 11, 2010, 03:53:00 PM »

first off
I have NOT been able to dump this 360 at all (falcon)

wired it up using 360nandflasher no flash controller detected
this is the direct wire method pins directly in mobo sockets.

360 boots fine on stock dashboard (pre nxe)
as ive not been able to dump it  so its not a bad flash problem..

cleaned the pins and resoldered dozens of times same outcome..

updated the box to legit 7371 resoldered and same thing no flash controller detected outta 100 + jtags ive had this same issue about 5 times no matter what I do the damn things just will not dump at all..

anyone else ?

Have you tried plugging it in right before or right after you start the NandPro dump? I've found that works in many cases.

USB not LPT and the usb is wired directly to the points on mobo no resistors in line with the wires.

Connect the USB before you plug in the power. Then give the dump command. When it says "Cannot detect flash controller" THEN plug in the power and give the command again. Always do it in that order.

First, try adding a diode to the pin 11 lpt wire facing mobo side. This isn't needed on Xenons, but I've found it can make a difference on Falcons/Jaspers.

If this doesn't work, maybe try adding the resistors and seeing if it makes a difference. I've never had to use the resistors personally, but it seems to vary from person to person.

You'd do well to read the whole thread before replying. He's using USB, not LPT.

Hmm, a mysterios problem.
A other method to dump the nand would be a Infectus, maybe your SPI port is blown up?

I had the exact same fucking issue last night with a Jasper 256MB.
- Re-soldered 3 times
- Checked my Maximus 360nandflasher by dumping a spare rrod consoles nand.

Did everything I could think of. Eventually gave up just flashed the dvd drive and now im flogging it. First xbox360's nand I have not been able to dump. Not sure wtf happened...

try a clean reboot?

that worked for me with a xenon before blink.gif I was having the same problem

also double check the ground connection(black wire on max nandflasher). thats usually the problem. sometimes it looks like a solid connection but somehow it doesnt work. try grounding it somewhere else on the board.

Came across a xenon that acted the same way myself, I just put it on the shelf for now.
Bad SPI port is what i gather.
